What an amazing snorkel... - What an amazing snorkel adventure to swim alongside nurse sharks, stingray and a sea turtle! Moho Caye was also beautiful to relax and have some delicious lunch.

Captain Jak's All Day Snorkeling - Wonderful experienced crew that took care of everyone regardless of experience. We saw many fish, swam with a sea turtle, sting rays, and nurse sharks. Visited Silke and Moho caye. The water warm and clear. Fresh towels and bottled water offered after each stop. Lunch provided was a typical Belizian meal, chicken, rice and beans, and potato salad. Yummy! You can take your own alcohol. There is a cooler on board. Soft drinks provided. A great day!

Amazing venture! - Captain Jak's picked us up from our accommodation, and when one of our party members decided not to go because he wasn't feeling well, drove him and his dad back for no charge. This tour starts at Silk Caye. We basically snorkeled around the entire tiny island as there is a reef that circles the whole island. We saw a lot of fish, tiny squid, a small ray, and the corral. The island itself had a bathroom if needed. Our guide was fantastic keeping us altogether but let us go out a little on our own if we wanted to. He also would dive way down to point out things that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise! After this, we got back on the boat (had a bathroom by the way) and went to Turtle Alley. Unfortunately, there were no turtles when we were there, but plenty of reviews mention them, so I think it could easily go either way. We did see several eagle rays and nurse sharks along with some fish such as a hound fish. All of this was extremely cool. For this part, we snorkeled around on our own. Finally, we went to Moho Caye - a much bigger island also with a bathroom. Here we had the provided lunch which was rice/beans, jerk chicken, potato salad of some kind, and a cookie. It was delicious and even my picky daughter liked it! Then we had the option to snorkel again or relax on the island, and we chose to relax. We found chairs and chilled for a while, explored a little, got in the ocean, and paid a man $1 to knock down a coconut for us and machete it open for us to drink. All of it was a very cool experience, and the coconut was delicious. We also got to talk to other tourists and a group of locals who were there celebrating a birthday. There were four guides total, so there were plenty of people to ensure we were safe. We all had a great day doing this tour!

Wonderful Day! - I highly recommend snorkeling with Captain Jak's! First you take a beautiful trip out to Silk Caye. Once out to the beautiful Island, we broke into smaller groups to snorkel. The water was clear and the guide was great, showing us fish and coral along the way. The sun was shining beautifully into the water highlighting the colors. Once around, we all took off to the 2nd snorkle area where we saw Turtles and Ray's. Just stunning, Then over to Moho Caye for an amazing lunch! Time to chill and swim in the beautiful warm blue waters. Drink some fresh Coconut water and relax. I highly recommend this excursion if you are in Placencia Village!

Thank you Nick, Angel,... - Thank you Nick, Angel, Brian, and Captain Dean for a snorkeling experience of a lifetime. The crew was very knowledgeable, accommodating, and entertaining. Boat was very comfortable. We were able to see nursing sharks, sting rays, and a sea turtle. Lunch was super tasty!! One hiccup where we waited almost 30min to get picked up and didn't hear from the operating group. It wasn't until we had our hotel receptionist call them before we got picked up. Luckily it all worked out and we were still able to join our group.

Awesome - Great tour, cool guys, just all around great experience. Worth every penny. The guys tried extremely hard and brought out the best. Food was delicious. There was plenty to drink, towels and lots of information about the underwater world. Anytime again!

A perfect day on the gorgeous Belize ocean. - Great guides. Amazing snorkeling. We saw turtles, rays, small sharks, and so many beautiful reef fish. Best bbq chicken and rice lunch EVER. We loved hanging out on Moho Caye after lunch and sipping on the boozy coconuts. It was an incredible day!

Enjoy Life - Snorkel with Captain Jak's! - I had a wonderful snorkeling trip with Captain Jak's! I was a little worried when I forgot to bring ginger for sea sickness - however, the boat was really big and even though it was rough, I didn't get sea sick at all. Moho and Silk Cayes are gorgeous. The guides were great and they split us into small groups. We saw an octopus!!! This was a dream come true for me, to see an octopus in the wild. The lunch was incredible. Yummy! I loved every bite of it and there was enough for seconds. Gracias! We saw so many cool fish, nurse sharks, and beautiful loggerhead turtles. Our guide was wonderful. The customer service in the office was great too. From start to finish - Captain Jak's did it right! I'm extremely happy with my tour :)

Great day snorkeling - This was a very well run snorkeling tour. Our guides were great. They pointed out things and stopped to explain what we were seeing. She also dove to being up various other interesting bottom dwelling critters. We did 3 snorkels. We were given plenty of time in each spot. The crazy turtle was the highlight. The meal and boat ride rounded out a lovely day. People that opted not to snorkel still got to see the turtle and lived a day in Gilligan's life.

The snorkeling itself is amazing! Organization of tour, communication, customer service - not so much! - I want nothing more than to say this was the most wonderful experience. Unfortunately for us, it started off horrendous. We were actually supposed to be on the one that this review is under (Sunday, Feb 16th), but we did not. We ended up having to go the next day (Monday, Feb 17th), not because of us, but rather the tour company and Viator. I had rescheduled this tour from Monday to Sunday a week prior to our trip. As we waited to be picked up on Sunday, nothing. I tried contacting the tour company, it would tell us invalid number. I contacted Viator, we were hung up on or disconnected during the first call. We called back, they confirmed our tour was indeed for that day. The tour company finally reached out, over 40 minutes past our pick up time. They said the boat had left. They also stated that their reservation for us said tomorrow, I told them that had been changed a week prior and in fact WE had a voucher stating it was today etc. He argued with me, I stated I can show him our voucher and he said he could show us what he has. Really? I don't care what excuse, I go by when my money was taken out of my bank account and what my ticket says, which was for that day. They blamed Viator on not updating them etc. etc. Mind you, we are only in Placencia for 2 full days. We had other plans scheduled for the next day. The tour agency offered no other compensation other than "free cancellation". What a joke. We were literally here for this highlight of our vacation, snorkeling. We then had to decide to keep this tour and go the next day. Our day was ruined, we missed other experiences we were supposed to have the following day because now wasted hours on the one we weren't picked up for. We confirmed with tour company we would be picked up the next day (they asked us to wait at end of dirt road on main road) yeah, not our hotel as our ticket says but I said ok. They had our hotel name and address, it's on the voucher as well. On to the next day, Monday, we wait at the end of the road 8am as they had told us. No one arrives to pick us up. It's now 8:06am, I whatsapp the tour company, they state that they are "waiting for us at the pier" like what? After again discussing the location, the tour company after much confusion says they will be there get us. This is past 8:25am by now. A taxi shows up at 8:37am and takes us to the boat. The tour rep told us, oh we didn't know there's another hotel with the same name. I looked, couldn't find one. There's a BAR with a similar name. Any google search shows our hotel/Apartment on it. You would think knowing how they already messed up so bad that they would be extra vigilant to not mess up any further. Anyways, our hotel address was on the voucher. Later on in the day, come to find out, other passengers told us the boat had actually LEFT without us and turned around! What if I had not reached out when I did? This was the worst, most stressful Tour/Viator experience I have ever had. They really need to get their organization together. Viator as well, if according to the tour company "didn't notify them of the change". Still not our issue. Also, some type of compensation other than a measly cancellation option, this goes for Viator as well should have occurred. I wasn't asking for a full refund, just some type of compensation for missing our other experiences. It's a joke because they literally didn't pick us up, not our fault. They played the blame game and now have upset customers that missed out on part of their experiences with limited time. I have used Viator for 40+ experiences and now I am wary to ever book here again. Definitely double, triple, quadruple check. Call the day before, call the day of, call 5 minutes before, and don't ever trust rebooking tours or what your voucher says. Basically don't trust that anyone knows what's going on or expect true customer service. Now onto the GOOD, the places we went were wonderful, we swam with sharks, rays, turtles, fish, coral reef...it was amazing. Nikki was a kind girl and we enjoyed snorkeling with her. She would snorkel down to the coral and grab things to show us and teach/show us the creatures/coral etc. Lunch was tasty and set on a wonderful small island. We enjoyed having a couple hours of free time. We were fortunate not many people were there so it felt very secluded and private :). It was a great snorkel experience. Honestly, I don't expect anything. I just want to make those involved aware of things that should not have happened. And these issues definitely weren't the customer, myself and my partners fault. Especially for a tour this expensive. Better customer service on both parts. If not for these issues, this tour would have received 5 STARS no doubt. If you made it this far, reserve at your own risk, the snorkeling portion was still amazing!
