Setting Sail to Silk Caye

Ah, the Caribbean! A place where the sun kisses your skin, the ocean whispers secrets, and adventure is always just a wave away. This time, my compass pointed me towards Placencia, Belize, where the promise of snorkeling with turtles, rays, and sharks at Silk Caye awaited. The journey began with a warm welcome at the facility, a modern oasis with complimentary fresh juice, water, and ginger snaps. After a delicious lunch of stewed chicken and rice with beans, we had a moment to relax before diving back in. The second tour took us to a coral farm, where efforts to protect and grow these vital ecosystems were evident. The wind had picked up, making the swim back a bit challenging, but the life jacket was a lifesaver, allowing me to conserve energy and enjoy the experience.
