The Plain of Jars is Southeast Asia’s extensive megalithic site, boasting an estimated collection of 500 to 1,000 stone jars scattered over the minimalistic hills of Xieng khouang. The majority of these jars are arranged in clusters, from tens to hundreds. The genesis and purpose served by these jars remain a mystery. It is speculated that these jars may have been used for either burial or food and water storage.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Depart from Eric’s homestay in Ban nam chat, followed by a 4-hour trek to reach the first group at the Plain of Jars. The journey continues to the second group. Meals of the day include lunch and dinner at the camping area, arranged by our guides.
Day 2: Start the day early with bird-watching, followed by a trek to the highest vantage point post-breakfast. The day concludes with a trek back to Eric’s homestay in Ban nam chat.
