Today, the aim is to explore the genuine Provence, where one might encounter an elderly gentleman enjoying his Pastis at 11 am, a woman purchasing her baguette, and locals relaxing outdoors. The day will begin with a journey back in time.
Following the death of Jesus, Mary Magdalene relocated to Provence. There will be a hike to the grotto where she spent her final 33 years. This location is truly inspiring, offering stunning landscapes and a spiritual ambiance.
Next, the journey will lead to a vibrant Provencal town, perfect for shopping, enjoying lunch, and visiting the basilica that houses Mary Magdalene’s tomb and her skull.
Traveling through a picturesque valley of vineyards by the Sainte Victoire mountain, the destination will be a quaint, authentic hilltop village. Here, visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk and a game of pétanque under the shade of plane trees in the main square, just like the locals do!
