Following the death of Jesus, Mary Magdalene relocated to Provence, spending her final 33 years in a grotto within the Sainte Baume massif. This location is truly inspiring. Visitors can explore it independently, at their own pace, with ample time for prayer or meditation.
Afterward, a local sandwich and a glass of rosé from the host’s village will be provided. The next stop is Saint-Maximin-la-Sainte-Baume, a charming, colorful Provencal town, where there will be free time for shopping, enjoying ice cream, coffee, and visiting the Mary Magdalene basilica, where her skull is preserved.
The day will conclude with a drive through the picturesque Sainte Victoire valley. If time permits, there will be opportunities to stroll through the vineyards, visit a quaint, authentic village, or sample local wines.
