Amazing first cenote experience! - It was our first time diving in cenotes and it was SO much fun! Anna was great and very knowledgeable. She made our experience fun, informative and safe. I’d definitely come back and do another cenote dive and recommend her to friends/family. Muchísimas gracias! 😊

CENOTES are BEAUTIFUL - My bucket-list trip to Playa del Carmen with daughter & son-in-law encountered a medical mishap upon arrival which disrupted arranged plans. Then high winds precluded 'check-out' dive for daughtrer prior to Cenotes. With considerable diving experience, The Cenote Guy's Daniella found me a spot for my first fresh water encounter which was fantastic. She also gratefully located smaller 63 tanks that I'm accustomed to diving with and alerted Dive Master Anna to my distain for walking distances with a tank on my back at 74. Though the other diver was less experienced, Anna, our dive master, was a delight, helpfl and so informed. I chose not to take her up on offer of diving The Pit so I'll have something to return for! Barbie Line and Bat Cave were a great pick for anyone

Cenote dives - El Pit and Dos Ojos Feb 2025 - This was my first dive in a Cenote so I can't say that Cenote Guy is "the best dive shop" since I have no other experiences on which to compare. But I can say that they met/exceeded every expectation that I had. Meeting place in Playa del Carmen was easy to locate and departure from PDC to Tulum (to pick up two other divers) left right on time. We dove with Sebastian who was very friendly and provided a lot of detail about the formation of the cenote's as well as giving us a full description of what our dives would entail prior to entering the water (for this trip we did El Pit and Dos Ojos). I did not bring my own equipment and that which was provided was in good condition. One thing I had researched was temperature of the water and correspondingly the thickness of the wet suit that would be needed. I had read that perhaps 5mm was best and while the suits provided were 3 mm, Sebastian made sure there was extra equipment on the truck which proved valuable as one of our divers admitted to easily getting cold and needed the extra layers. I did not experience any issue personally and thought the 3mm wet suit was fine, but I run a bit warm. What I enjoyed most was that Sebastian made sure we took our time and that he made it a point to stop and show us things within the Cenote's that we should look at. This is in contrast to some other groups that appeared to be in a rush to get done. As an example, in Dos Ojos, two other groups of divers went past us while we had stopped to absorb the beauty of the surroundings. These groups didn't even slow down to experience what I thought were spectacular views of the sunlight coming through and lighting up the waterscape (you tube the cenote's and you'll know what I'm referring to).

If you dive you have to live this experience! - I spent an amazing day with the cenote guy. The staff is friendly and welcoming. My instructor Alexis told us about the history of cenotes and the country. He also accompanied us all day with a smile and professionalism. He is vigilant about safety and can give technical advice if necessary. The day was perfectly punctuated between dives in an exceptional setting, snack break and meals. To sum up, if you want to dive into a wonderful setting safely in joy and good humor do not hesitate!

UNREAL 2 Days - could recommend this more - We booked The Cenote Guy after reading amazing reviews (their stats don’t lie) and now we are here to add our own amazing review. This dive shop is so professional (booking simple and communication perfect) and their love of Cenotes really shines through (teaching you the history of the Cenotes). We had Sebastian as our guide and he was super enthusiastic but also spent the time to make sure that we understood the safety guidelines and felt really comfortable before we did our dive. The equipment was very well looked after and everything worked as expected. The snacks provided kept us going throughout the day and if you’re thinking about doing this one day, make sure you have a day afterwards to book twice. IT IS UNREAL. Genuinely can’t recommend this enough.

Great experience all round - Cenote diving is amazing! The whole process with the cenote guy was easy as they communicate via WhatsApp and are very responsive to messages. Our guide was super enthusiastic about cenote diving and gave us clear instructions and info about our dives. It was otherworldly inside the cenotes - definitely an activity worth doing!
