Highly recommend this cooking class! - This was an experience beyond cooking. Chef Coty is as personable and funny as she is knowledgeable(which is very). She went above and beyond just teaching us the recipes. She would explain why we were doing certain things and taught us hacks to make things easier, taught the instructions and alternative ways to do things and also created a wonderful environment for easy and fun conversation. I would definitely recommend her class. Have fun while you learn new things, make good food, meet new people and take the recipes home with you! Thank you so much for the amazing opportunity to learn from you :)

Delicious & Delightful - The food was delicious and Coty was delightful! Our family of four adults thoroughly enjoyed this experience, with our sons saying it was a highlight of the entire trip to Cancun. Together, under her expert guidance we prepared (and enjoyed) a wonderful three course meal accompanied by wine and beer in her specially customized kitchen with separate work stations for each person. The evening capped off with learning about tequila and mezcal and samplings. We all highly recommend Coty and the Co.Cos Culinary School.

Amazing Afternoon - Hands On Cooking Experience - Three of us spent an amazing afternoon cooking with Chef Coty. Upon arrival we were treated to a welcome drink and settled into our stations and reviewed recipes and instructions of what we would be cooking. We had the pleasure of a three course experience learning to cook (and eating!) authentic Mexican dishes along with a lesson on peppers fresh/dried peppers and Tequila and Mezcal. You will take away knowledge from this class no matter if you have limited confidence in the kitchen or are an amateur foodie with cooking skills. Coty is an excellent and natural teacher blending fun banter with teaching knowledge so you have the confidence to make these recipes at home while making this a very enjoyable afternoon. This is not to be missed and will definitely be back.

If you do one local experience and you are a foodie, chose this - Highly recommend both this class and her Drinking school. Well organized, delicious and informative exposure to local ingredients, and repeatable recipes in this participatory class. The chef is interesting and provided a tequila and mezcal tasting and education. We left with new skills in chopping, making sauces, making chips and of course all the recipes including ceviche with special sauces, fish in anchiote sauce with shrimp, baked in banana leaves and so many more! Perhaps our best experience here!

Best Meal of our Trip - The BEST afternoon in Mexico!!! Chef Coty is fun, knowledgeable, and personable. We made Chile Rellenos stuffed with Shrimp and Cheese, Refried Beans, rice, and Hot sauce. The fresh and delicious ingredients were provided. My husband (who doesn't cook), and I both enjoyed it. After making the meal and learning special cooking tips, we got to eat our dinner out in her lovely garden. And we even got the recipe to take home so we can make it again. We can't wait to come back and see you next year Chef Coty. Many Thanks

Fun and Delicious Pizza - This is by far the best activity you can do in Playa. Coty and her team are the best! Not only will you make some amazing food but you will learn some great tips and tricks. She makes cooking fun and don’t worry if you’re a beginner, you will not feel out of place. She makes sure everyone feels comfortable no matter their skill level. If you’re looking for something to do while in Playa I would highly recommend this class. You will not be disappointed!

Fabulous cooking class with chef Coty! - Another fantastic cooking class with master chef Coty Villarreal! We were able to choose the menu which made the experience extra special. Coty welcomed us with a tall glass of hibiscus water. Our culinary journey began with timbal, a beautiful stacked appetizer of sweet potatoes, avocado, mango and ceviche. It tasted even better than it looked! The main course was a duo of Baja-style tacos, with 2 different sauces. To prepare the tacos we learned how to make tempura that was light and fluffy. It was amazing to watch it off up in the hot oil. Our finale was a flan - but with a twist. This glad tasted like an amaretto cheesecake! It was almost too pretty to cut! Along the way Coty took time out for a short lecture on peppers, explaining the uses and preparation of the most important peppers in Mexican cuisine. The meal was plated and served on Coty's lovely patio. It was another delicious evening! I highly recommend Coty's cooking classes for anyone who is curious about true Mexican cooking; along with the family cooking Coty shares knife techniques and explains when seasonings should be added - and why. I've taken several classes from Coty and I always learn something new. A not-to-be-missed Playa del Carmen experience!
