Ek Balam is a significant Mayan archaeological site situated in Yucatan, Mexico, just 30 km north of Valladolid city. The term Ek Balam has multiple interpretations, often deemed as “dark or black jaguar” or “bright star-jaguar”.
Following that, your journey continues to Valladolid. Located east of Yucatán and 169 km away from Mérida, the state capital, Valladolid was established by the Spanish in 1543 and named in homage to the Iberian city. In 2012, it earned the designation of “Magical Town of Mexico”.
