Great diving school, nice staff - Fine diving school. Good and nice instructors, good equipment and a spacious boat. Good explanation and you almost don't have to do except to check your equipment. While getting into the boat, your swimming fins are removed. Lots of fruit, water, iced tea and cookies for after the 2 dives.

Diving near Tamarindo - Going to Costa Rica, we wanted to include a dive. Since it had been a while since our last dive, we picked PCDC as they had a quick refresher course. The staff was excellent in going through the basics again before our open water dive. Our guide was Risky(yes the name not his behavior)🤣😜. He excelled at making sure we optimized our time under water by pointing out all the amazing Marine life. We would highly recommend this dive center if visiting the Tamarindo area of CR.

Fascinating - Don’t miss this experience, as my son described it: “fascinating.” Organization, treatment and seriousness a 10. Our instructor Victor “Tristan”an expert. If you see him in his green slips as a snap, a 12. Thanks to Ivan, Susana, Eli and Victor, and the whole team.

Top-notch dive experience! - My teenage son, his friend, and I had a wonderful time diving with Pacific Coast! I had not gone diving for many years, so I did their brief refresher course in the pool before setting out for the regular dive. The instructor, Emi, did a fantastic job of making me feel comfortable with the equipment and refreshing my skills. The open water guide, Risky, also took it slow for me and gave me the confidence to get back in. The diving conditions were not optimal, but we still saw lots of cool stuff, including sharks, rays, eels, and a million beautiful fish. I was nervous to go diving again, but after the experience with Pacific Coast, I am eager to get back in the water!

Checked one off the bucket list! - 5 minutes into the first dive we were in close on a giant manta ray! Absolutely awesome! We ended up having 6 sightings during that dive, all fairly close. In addition to an eagle ray, 3 other rays, multiple sharks, starfish, and thousands of other fish.
Fantastic staff and a great operation top to bottom. “Risky”was our guide and he was really great, fun and super knowledgeable.
Both of my sons were fairly inexperienced divers and we got to experience the dive of a lifetime together!

Not for everyone - First red flag: from the dive center, we had to drive our own vehicle to the beach (following a van full of others) and then got accosted by "security" for a tip.
But to the dive itself, there was a high intensity, militant atmosphere on the boat...which had about 30-40 guests on it...some snorkelers, some divers. When they set up the equipment they didn't give either me or my partner weights on the weight belt or in the BCD, then they snapped at my partner for "holding everyone up" while she finished getting her gear on after we pointed out the problem. She's young and has over 60 dives.....I'm new but have 20+ dives over 5 months in now 4 countries. We (and another diving couple) got told about 3 or 4 different times "this is how it's done" (long hair MUST be tied, for example.....and heaven forbid you put your mask on your forehead for a second while still on the boat....that's NOT "how it's done!") as if we were idiots when in fact, "that" is not "how it's done" based on all of the experience we've all had on other dives. PCDC wanted certain things done THEIR way about idiosyncratic minutiae without any perspective that maybe THEY were the weird ones for even bringing it up. It just created a tense, impersonal, assembly-line-of-schoolchildren atmosphere that is not what I've experienced or want in a dive. To be fair, maybe this is common in Costa Rica as we later avoided a dive company in another town that gave off the same vibes.
If that level of hyper-vigilant militance is for you.......enjoy your dive with PCDC.

Look for another option - It was one of the worst diving experiences of my life. The company blends the snokel class with open water and advanced divers. The guide looked more like an excited tourist than a dive master, but worried about going ahead and making good videos for herself. The dives lasted about 45 minutes, not more than 20 meters. The group went up with more than 80 bars in the cylinder. The swimmer I used was broken and I had a lot of difficulty moving with it. The rush of the boat is noteworthy. All done to finish as quickly as possible. Time and money thrown out. I recommend you look for another alternative.
