Plovdiv ranks as the 6th oldest continuously inhabited city in the world and the oldest in Europe. Settled since 4,000 B.C., starting with a Neolithic community, Plovdiv has seen many conquerors over the years, including the Thracians, Greeks, and Romans.

The Thracian Temple Complex in Starosel is the oldest discovered royal Thracian complex with a mausoleum, dating back to the late 5th century. The temple hosted ceremonies dedicated to the Mother Goddess and Orpheus.

Hisarya thrived during the Roman era, with Emperor Diocletian declaring it a town in 293, initiating its development. We’ll visit the Roman bath, the best-preserved bath in the country, built in the latter half of the 3rd century.
