Highlights
  • Montenegro Wonders - Begin with a drive from Podgorica to Virpazar or take a scenic route through National Park Skadar Lake. You’ll pass through quaint villages and learn about the fascinating history of the lake. The first viewpoint offers a breathtaking perspective of the vast and unique Skadar Lake.

A few kilometers from Virpazar, two roads lead to the Adriatic Sea: an easy route through a tunnel and an older one across the Pastrovicka mountains. We’ll take the mountain road. Aside from the stunning natural scenery, the highlight of this route is a viewpoint where you can see Skadar Lake surrounded by mountains and old villages. A few kilometers further, the expansive Adriatic Sea will leave you in awe. The beauty of the coast will make you forget everything and savor the moment.

  • Skadar Lake National Park - Enjoy a beautiful viewpoint overlooking Skadar Lake. Surrounded by mountains, this protected area for birds and wildlife offers a priceless sense of calm and happiness.
  • Sveti Stefan - Take in the panoramic view of Sveti Stefan Island, the most luxurious part of our coast. Discover its intriguing history and the notable people who have visited this unique place.
  • Budva Municipality - Known for its stunning beaches and vibrant nightlife, Budva also boasts a charming old town dating back to the 5th century BC. We’ll take a pleasant walk and enjoy a coffee break. For hiking enthusiasts, there are many fascinating, now-abandoned villages atop the hills that exude a magical, romantic atmosphere. The locals’ warm and charming energy will make you feel right at home.
  • Kotor Serpentine - This 25-serpentine road offers the most beautiful views of Kotor Bay. Built in the last century to connect Cetinje and Kotor, two important market towns, the panoramic views are among the best in the country. You’ll undoubtedly capture some unforgettable photos.
  • Kotor Old City - We’ll drive to Kotor, a popular tourist destination and fortified town on the Adriatic coast. Known for its winding streets and squares, this medieval old town features several Romanesque churches, including the Cathedral of Saint Tryphon, and many legends and secrets hidden within its walls. Kotor is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its residents are very proud of this cultural and historical heritage. The 4.5 km of stairs leading to St. Giovanni Church offer stunning views of Kotor Bay and will inspire you to imagine life in centuries past.
  • Tivat Municipality - This stop is optional, depending on the season. Typically, in July and August, heavy traffic makes it difficult to visit. However, Tivat is a lovely coastal town with a modern history dating back to the Yugoslav era. The new part of town is built in a contemporary style and is one of the few ports for mega yachts in Europe. It’s a great place for a walk and a coffee break, with luxury brands and shops to explore. The pleasant breeze and fresh air make Tivat very special.
  • Cetinje - The old royal capital, rich in history, is a small, cozy city with many interesting stories. We’ll have the opportunity for a short walk. Today, it is a center of culture and art, and its residents are proud to hail from Montenegro’s former capital.

Wonderful tour guide and trip! - Stefan, our tour guide, was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about Montenegro and its history. A must-do for anyone wanting to learn about and appreciate the beauty of Montenegro coastal towns. Stefan was very kind and patient with regard to timing of our trip, agreeing to less or more time in specific places. The Old Town in Kotor was more rich in history while Budva was smaller in size and had more of a ‘beach vibe’. Both very beautiful yet different. We had time for a lunch by the beach in Budva. A great day!

Amazing from start to finish! - The tour was personalised and Tijana took the time to explain the country's history and show me the best spots for views and photos. The drive around the coast is scenic, high up on mountains etc and as someone who can be afraid of heights, Tijana was very calm, reassuring and most of all, an excellent driver which put my nerves at ease. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get the most out of a day in Montenegro.

The sun, the cloud and the mountain - A coastal ride was planned on rainy day. Tanja suggested a day earlier. Sun competed with bits of fog to show coastal jewels differently. Tanja's adventurous mood led us to a mountain road: crystal icecles and untouched snow. Her adaptability to circumstances resulted in memorable trip day.

Thanks Tanja for the amazing tour. - This tour is great if you want to hit some of the coastal towns in Montenegro. I had a great time with Tanja. Unfortunately, the weather was rainy and bad but the tour guide and tour attractions are amazing. The drive is picturesque when the weather is good. Kotor and Budva old Town is definitely worth a trip.

A Montenegrin Wonder. - I only had a couple of free days while visiting Podgorica in Montenegro, and Tanja of Montenegro Wonders helped me make the most of them. She was courteous, professional with excellent English and a comprehensive knowledge of Montenegro and it's history. She knew all the shortcuts, and how best to get to and from a location as efficiently as possible. She was also very helpful on how I could save money while I was in this beautiful country, advice which is always welcome. Our tour to the Adriatic Coast was amazing: Skadar Lake, the old town in Budva and Tivat were very picturesque, but Tanja saved the best for last with a visit to Kotor. The old city is like something plucked out of Italy framed by scenic mountains that no photo could ever do justice. The icing on the cake was the drive up a mountain road with simply breathtaking views. I highly recommend that anyone visiting Podgorica books a tour with Montenegro Wonders: I can assure you that you will not be disappointed.
