Setting Sail to Sutivan

The sun was just beginning to rise as I found myself at the marina, ready to embark on the Island of Brač Tour. The gentle hum of the boat’s engine was a soothing reminder of the adventures that lay ahead. As we set sail towards the island of Brač, the crew welcomed us with schnapps, chocolate donuts, and coffee. It was a delightful start to what promised to be a day filled with exploration and relaxation.

Our first stop was the charming village of Sutivan. With 90 minutes to explore, I wandered through its quaint streets, discovering hidden gems and soaking in the authentic Dalmatian atmosphere. The village was a picturesque blend of old-world charm and modern-day allure, with lovely restaurants lining the streets, tempting me with their aromas. I couldn’t resist stopping for a quick bite, savoring the local flavors before heading back to the boat.

Diving into the Deep Blue

As we departed Sutivan, the anticipation of the next adventure was palpable. Our destination was the shipwreck Kontesa on the island of Šolta. The crew served a delicious lunch as we sailed, offering a choice of tuna steak, chicken, or a vegetarian plate. I opted for the tuna steak, perfectly cooked and paired with a glass of red wine. The meal was a culinary delight, setting the tone for the afternoon’s activities.

Upon reaching the shipwreck, the boat anchored, and it was time to dive into the crystal-clear waters. Equipped with snorkels and floaties, I plunged into the sea, eager to explore the underwater world. The shipwreck was a mesmerizing sight, teeming with marine life and vibrant corals. It was a surreal experience, swimming alongside schools of fish and feeling the gentle sway of the ocean currents.

Hidden Bays and Sweet Farewells

After an exhilarating snorkeling session, we set sail once more, this time towards a hidden bay on the island of Brač. The journey was a serene escape, with nothing but the sound of the waves and the gentle rustle of pine trees. Upon arrival, the bay revealed itself as a secluded paradise, perfect for a leisurely swim or simply basking in the sun.

As the day drew to a close, we made our way back to the marina, refreshed and rejuvenated. The crew, ever attentive and accommodating, served fresh cold watermelon, a sweet end to a perfect day. Their hospitality extended beyond the tour, as they graciously offered to drive us home after an unscheduled stop.

Reflecting on the day’s adventures, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience such a beautiful part of the world. The Island of Brač Tour was a gentle yet thrilling escape, a reminder of the simple joys of island life. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a day of relaxation and exploration.
