Informative and immersion tour - It is a unique experience to meet with Tibetans and their community. Very informative about their situation and a concrete experience on the living culture. I would recommend this to others who wish to understand more about Tibetans or those who look for an alternative day tour!

an authentic experience with learning - The tour with Thupten Gyatso among the Tibetan exiles in Pokhara, which included a visit to the Tibetan village in the city, a trip to a Buddhist monastery and a conversation with a young monk, followed by participation in a prayer at a Buddhist temple, was nothing short of spectacular. I learned a lot about Tibetan culture in general and about the lives of Tibetan Buddhists in Nepal. Thupten Gyatso is an excellent guide and a true ambassador of Tibet. His knowledge is vast, and he knows how to connect everyday life with global politics, both past and present. In between, we dined at an excellent Tibetan restaurant, visited the home of a Tibetan family, drank real Tibetan tea, and ate traditional Tibetan food made from ground grain grown in Tibet. The tour is highly recommended as it combines an authentic experience with learning.

authentic, educational and exciting! - Excellent tour! I was a bit skeptical at first but the day turned out great! It was an educational, exciting and horizon-expanding day tour! I learned a lot and had some great experiences! Mr Thupten speaks very good English, explains everything in detail and has an answer to every question. On the day tour you learn something about the camps, about life in the camps from young to old, learn a lot about the Buddhist monasteries and life in them, about medical and financial support and about the delicious food! It was nice that a lot of information about and teachings of the Dalai Lama was imparted. Thank you very much! Keep it up!

Do. Not. Miss. 5 ⭐️Tibetan culture experience. - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Thupten was the most gracious teacher and host. His parents escaped from Tibet and he is part of the community of Tibetans in exile here in Nepal, so he was able to give us so much information about the experiences of Tibetans in exile here. If you want to learn, this is the experience for you! Thupten’s passion for his culture, heritage, religion and people touched our hearts. He has the most generous spirit of sharing his compassion and wisdom. Thupten arranged for us to meet a senior, but still young, monk at the second monastery and this conversation was a highlight for us. We visited two monasteries, and the two Tibetan settlements adjacent to them, a traditional Tibetan doctor, a carpet workshop, an excellent Tibetan restaurant for lunch and had butter tea that was prepared for us in a Tibetan home. Thupten arranged our transportation and made sure we had water, and looked after us like family for the entire day. Don’t miss this one!

Absolute must-do - Decided to take the full day tour with basic knowledge of Tibet and strong interest in Buddhism, I was not dissapointed. The guide is a very passionate talker, it didn't feel like your typical tourist tour. There was a clear message for the autonomy of Tibet, an indepth dive into Tibetan history, the teachings of Buddhism and the role of the Dalai Lama. Highlight of the day was a q&a with a Buddhist monk, which made my interest in Buddhism even stronger. A very inspiring man, the ability to ask everything I wanted to ask and receiving remarkable intelligent answers was a unique opportunity.

Great tour! - We took a half day trip to visit the Tibeti refugee village. We were picked up very early in the morning from our hotel, to get to the village while the morning prayer was ongoing. We got to hear the prayers and also walk around the village. We toured a monastery and also had the opportunity to meet with a monk for coffee, and talk to him. Our guide was very knowledgeable and eager to share information and stories. He was the best tour guide we had on this trip. We learned a lot about the Tibet history and life and the whole visit was very special.

Authentic, honest, and eye-opening, this tour was a real treat. - This tour is incredible. Our guide, Thupten, was incredibly passionate about the plight of Tibetans, as he himself is from Tibet and had experienced the atrocities first hand. The itinerary was jam-packed with a wealth of information you would never get from mainstream media or history books. Meeting with the Tibetan doctor was a real treat, we were both shocked at how much she knew about us just through our pulse - without asking hardly any questions, she was spot on! The restaurant lunch was delicious and authentic. Being able to speak to a senior monk at the monastery was really special, as we are on our own spiritual journey so it gave me a chance to ask some burning questions I had. Also, being invited into a family home to taste traditional Tibetan food was a real privilege. Overall - go on this tour. You will not regret it!
