Very informative - Very thorough and informative tour, suitable for people with good knowledge of the subject as well as those new to it. Discussion of legal and political issues faced by the community in exile and the impact on their day to day was particularly insightful. Could have benefited from more nuance re current situation in Tibet itself.

The most memorable day in Pokhara - We are a couple from Taiwan, have traveled 23 countries and participated in many trips, and must say this is definitely a five-star recommended unforgettable trip! Thupten is a very professional and comprehensive tour guide with a comprehensive understanding of Buddhism and Tibetan culture, as well as the arrangement of the trip. The arrangement before the event, you can feel the care of Thupten, because coincidentally after the Tibetan New Year monks break time, very carefully explained various options, let us choose. The experience of eating breakfast in Tibetan villagers' homes is especially appreciated during the trip, and because of Thupten's explanation, you can understand the cultural significance of those flashing, hidden in the five-coloured horse flags, axes, and streets. It is completely different from what we see in the book or online Tibetan culture, actually visit, and through Thupten's eyes and hearts, you will experience it all again with five senses.

Unforgettable, fascinating and humbling experience - One of the most unique and culturally rich tours I’ve done in my life, and I’ve done a fair few. I took the full day version and so far it’s been my best day in Nepal. Thupten arrived perfectly on time, to take us through an interesting Tibetan settlement, where we learnt all about the story between the Tibet and Nepal. We also watched and learnt the art of carpet weaving, followed by a delicious Tibetan lunch. The best was yet to come as, in the afternoon, we visited two monasteries: on the first one, I had the opportunity to speak to a young monk and this was just incredible. He took me to the library and the temple which were fascinating. The day culminated at the home of a Tibetan family, where I enjoyed a tasty butter tea and original and rich Tibetan snacks. If you are after a cultural, original, humbling, calm and enriching experience, then look no further. I am so grateful for this day.

A Profound and Unforgettable Tibetan Cultural Experience - I took a few days to reflect on our tour before writing this review, and I’m glad I did. The experience was deeply moving, thought-provoking, and profoundly meaningful. Hearing firsthand from a Tibetan person about his experience living in Nepal added a level of authenticity and insight that made the tour truly special. One of the highlights was an hour-long conversation with a monk, which was both humbling and unforgettable. We were encouraged to ask him anything, and listening to his life story and beliefs felt like an intimate privilege. By the end of our conversation, I felt as if I had known him forever. We also had the unique opportunity to visit a Tibetan doctor, where each of us had our pulse read - a fascinating experience. The tour included visits to two monasteries, as well as a long-established Tibetan refugee camp, offering a deeper understanding of the community’s history and resilience. Lunch was another highlight. We enjoyed authentic Tibetan cuisine, including delicious momos and a beautifully seasoned vegetable soup - both absolutely fantastic. Our guide, Thupten, was exceptional - passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply connected to the stories and places he shared with us. He curated an incredible experience that left me feeling exhausted yet enlightened. This tour is a must for anyone seeking a meaningful and immersive cultural experience. I highly recommend it.

A deep-dive guided tour into Tibetan culture - This is a deep-dive guided tour into Tibetan culture and the challenges it faces, allowing us, as Taiwanese, to truly appreciate our own fortune. Mr. Thupten, a distinguished disciple of the Dalai Lama, shares profound insights on life throughout the journey. If you find yourself in Pokhara and don’t want to just scratch the surface, this is an experience you definitely shouldn’t miss!

Awe inspiring tour - One of the best experiences I’ve ever had in ANY country I’ve traveled to. It’s one thing to be shepherded to various sites to take pictures, it’s another to get an intimate view of the community that lives there. I was quite worried about the 8 hour length of the event as I was quite sleep deprived and am rather introverted. I was captivated for the entire tour and Gyatsu was tremendously knowledgeable. He tells things the way they are and is happy to tell you where to find out more if he doesn’t know the answer to your question. A truly enriching experience that I cannot recommend enough!

The most amazing experience I’ve had in Nepal - When I ran into the Tibetan Encounters Angency at Lakeside I didn’t know fate had prepared such a wonderful day for me!! Since I am a solo traveller I would never have gone to these places on my own but even if you are with your family/friends I still highly recommend this experience as you will hear so much about the tibetan history with the best tibetan guide EVER (Thupten), get in touch with locals, eat the most amazing food you will find in Pokhara and have some life changing budist explanations. Thank you so much for the amazing day!! I truly think that if you are in Pokhara and you haven’t done this tour you are missing the best part of the city

So inspiring! - It was an inspiring day with Thupten, the tibetan guide. For the first time I got really an idea of buddhism, the Dalai Lama and the political and cultural history of tibet! This is not a sightseeing tour, although you see three nice monasterys, two refugee villages and a livingroom of a tibetan family. The main thing are the various informations Thupten can give. Before I visited many buddhost monasterys for my own, but never understood that much. Now I'm feeling inspired. Also: if you want to speak with a monk, ask him whatever you want to know, if you like to try the taste of tibetan buttertea, and want to know, why this tea can be make in tibet, but not in nepal, than you should join this tour! (Tea-Spoiler: it has to do with temperature...)

Unforgettable! - Passionate Guide! Highly recommended tour! Thanks to Thupten for helping us understand Tibetan culture. From the moment we met Thupten his passion for his Country started my research on the fascinating and rich Tibetan culture. I enjoyed the delicious array of food at lunch. His friendliness and attention to detail made our visit to Nepal unforgettable and extra memorable. He organised a visit to the Monastery where a Monk gave us insight into the life and experiences of the Monks. We also visited a local home and were warmly welcomed with butter tea and treats. During the tour we enjoyed visiting a traditional local village and bought some gifts. The tour in the museum was interesting and enlightening. He even took us to have a checkup by a local Tibetan Doctor. Thanks again we appreciate your time, hospitality and giving us insight into the Tibetan traditions.
