A deeper cultural understanding - Learning about the refugee status of the descendants of tibet, how they have lived and live now and they struggles they are facing. It was also interesting to visit the monastery school and learn about what they/the children and the young do there and why they come there. We also got to visit a home and try tibetan barley porridge and yak butter tea (energy for high altitudes). As a bonus (as our tour was on a Wednesday) we got to witness the Dalai Lama soul day, the day of his birth and community dance celebrations.

Thupten is an amazing guide - I have learned a lot about Tibetan culture and the current situation of Tibetans in Nepal. Thupten is an amazing guide! You can ask him any question and he'll explain everything in detail (if he doesn't know he'll just tell you).

Great experience with the morning tour! - I enjoyed this experience very much. I did the morning Tibetan culture tour. Thupten was very communicative with me and very friendly. It was a beautiful ride to the village with views of the Anna purna range. Attending the monks early morning prayers was beautiful. I learned a lot about the refugees flight from their homeland and the refugee village. We ate a traditional breakfast hosted by a local family and it was very delicious. At the monestary store had the pleasure of sitting down one on one with a monk who has been there 20 years since he was a child and heard his story and he was very happy to take his time and answer any questions. The experience was great - two thumbs up and now I’d like the chance to do a full day tour.

Wonderful start to the day - I had a wonderful time during the half day morning Tibetan cultural tour. I got to enjoy the morning prayer, eating Tibetan food, and even getting to speak to a Buddhist monk. It was very informative, and I can tell Thupten is very passionate about his culture. The tour was well organized, and I got to ask many questions. I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking for a more authentic experience and wants to learn more about the lives of the locals. I did not know what to expect, but I was completely blown away, and it was a wonderful start to my day.

March 23 - Morning trip - Interesting, informative and educational. If you’re interested why there are Tibetans in Nepal (and elsewhere) then this trip is for you. The trip included spending some time with a Tibetan doctor and monk, a visit to the 2 refugee ‘camps’ and eating Tibetan food.

Such a Unique Experience! - Thupten's half day morning tour was such a unique experience! He went out of his way to pick us up from the airport bright and early and taught us so much about Tibetan culture and heritage. His tour was incredibly informative and he was willing to answer any and all questions we had. The authentic Tibetan food at the camp was one of the highlights of my experience - thank you so much for such a wonderful tour, Thupten!

AMAZIN - Thupten met us bright and early at our hotel and even went out of his way to meet us closer for pick up...we spent the morning joining the elder monks in monastery morning prayer and it was amazing..we even got to meet and spend time chatting with a elder monk and got to learn everything about their way of living...the whole way there our guide gave us great information about everything that has to do with Tibetian history and culture...he is a true Tibetain so I'd strongly recommend going with him...after that we had a Tibetain breakfast at a refugee families home....Thupten is by far the best informational guide I've ever had and I've traveled alot of places with alot of guides!! Half Day turned into Whole Day - What an amazing tour and amazing guide. This surpassed our expectations. We learned so much and had such a good time that we changed our plans and spent the entire day with Thupten. He graciously took us all over Pokhara and Tibetan settlements and he took us for the best meal we had in Nepal. I can’t say enough good things. This ended up being our favorite day. Thank you for a great day!
