Annapurna circuit trek - This is the second trek I have done in Nepal with Roshan, and I couldn’t recommend him enough. He is always happy to answer all your questions in detail and to elaborate if you need more information. Every accommodation he arranged for me was of the highest quality. He also kept in contact with me before the trek, making sure I knew where to go and what to bring. Once again, I can’t recommend him highly enough, and if I come to Nepal for a third time, I will certainly use him as my guide again! Thanks for a great trek!

Very caring, informative, photographer - We booked Roshan as our trekking guide for 10 days Annapurna Base Camp trek after we found him at Tripadvisor. We were a group of 12 friends from Berlin and UK. He was very caring and sensitive to all our needs for the trek. He offered us a great price in which he arranged all our required Trekking permits and papers before we arrived Pokhara. Also he arranged vehicles for our trekking pick-up and drop, arranged porters, all the lodges and restaurants for our foods and accommodation on the trek. He made it sure that we would reach our lunch place and overnight place on time before it gets late. For some friends who had quite slow walking pace, he had got assistant guides. So we never felt the feeling of fear about anything during the trek. He offered us daily fruits and tea breaks at regular intervals so as to maintain good energy level for our trek. He is a photographer too. He helped us with lots of photos and landscapes throughout the trek. He was able to provide us great explanations of all the questions we were curious about Nepal, Himalayas, trekking and Nepalese culture. Roshan is a very knowledgable man. He was also a trekking guide trainer. Lots of locals knew him very well, which made us feel safer. Every morning he checked if we were doing okay. Every evening he arranged a meeting and explained about the next day and asked us to raise any confusions we had. We really recommend Roshan as a great trekking guide in Pokhara, trekking guide of Annapurna Region. He deserves 5 star review from 12 of us.
We wish Roshan all the best in his trekking life.

Amazing Guide and reliable - Roshan is an amazing guide, we got in touch through trip advisor and chatted to agree the best solution for Us as we were moving a lot. Roshan was super helpful, he suggest few different hikes we choose from and we met in the day of the hike we had everything set by Roshan, car, restaurant and place where to sleep. Roshan is very knowledgeable of the Annapurna and was explaining to us a lot of people traditions and life. We stopped at the Australian Camp, it is nice but a bit noisy as Roshan already told us but that was the only trekking we could do with the time available. Next time I would really go for ponhill or somewhere higher. Roshan also was kind and brought his own professional refelx to take pictures since we weren't doing a very long trip. It was a very beautiful experience. I definitely recommend to get in Touch with Roshan to everyone.

Professional, World-Class, Once-In-A-Lifetime Trekking Experience - Roshan created an incredible, once-in-a-lifetime experience. My fiance and I did the 7 Day ABC Trek with him. He was nothing short of absolutely professional and excellent.
He’s been trekking professionally for 10 years, and you can tell that he is truly remarkable at what he does because of his focus on your hospitality: he is incredibly consistent at anticipating your needs and meeting them, even when you’re not expecting it.
I personally believe his love for hospitality comes from his background as a hotel manager – his entire career has been built around serving people, and he brings that customer-first mindset into trekking.
His TripAdvisor post says he is just a guide, however, that’s incorrect. Let me list out all the roles that Roshan plays for you when you go on a trek with him:
+ Translator: He speaks the best English of any Nepali I’d met. He translates for you when you need to speak with a local in a village, guest house, or on the road. Your words won’t be lost in translation.
+ Logistics Expert: He will pick the path that is best suited for you. He’ll tell you which path is shorter and more difficult, or longer and easier. If you fall behind, he will readjust the logistics plan for the trek to you. He learns your pace and adapts to you.
+ Accommodations Planner: When treks get busy, you may not have a place to sleep – you don’t need to worry about this with Roshan. He will call ahead and reserve a private room for you. He himself will give you the private room while he sleeps in the shared room. He cares about your comfort and accommodation above his own.
+ Negotiator: If you want to buy something on the road, he will negotiate for you to get you the best price. He told us where to get the best deals, when to wait for better ones up ahead, etc. He dislikes when tourists are ripped off because it reflects badly on his country.
+ Waiter: He will take your order for you and translate it to the kitchens on the road. He ensures that you finish your meal before he starts to eat. This is an example of how consistently he puts you first.
+ Entertainer: If he sees you have difficulty with the trek, he will tell stories and riddles to pass the time and keep you going. He wants you to enjoy yourself.
+ Culture Expert: Roshan will tell you stories about how Nepalis live and work, their traditions and values. He plays an active role in helping you understand his world more deeply.
+ Fauna Expert: He will point out plants and trees to stay away from or look at. For example, certain plants that are prevalent on the trek like nettle (which sting if you touch it), he will tell you where to be aware of it.
+ Guide: This is the role you are explicitly paying for. He will tell you where the correct turns are, where the paths get more difficult. He will meet with you before to go over the trek, elevation each day and where you will sleep throughout the week. He is highly organized.
My fiance and I would trek with him again in a heartbeat. He was world-class. He even offered us a room at his house to experience a true Nepali home – he does this for everyone. I wish there were more people like Roshan in tourism.

Poon Hill and Mardi Himal with Roshan - We were new to trekking so looked for a guide to advise us and take us onto a trek in the Annapurna region. We found Roshan on TripAdvisor and loved the reviews so wrote a message and Roshan replied the next day. From that point on everything about our trip was totally stress free. We could ask anything and he would arrange all for us. We did the Poon Hill and Mardi Himal trek, which takes 8/9 days. This was very nice. Poon hill trek was beautiful, but a bit more touristic than Mardi Himal. Mardi Himal was mainly Forrest trekking, but once you get above the trees the view is amazing!!! in the middle of this combination you can visit Gandruk, which is a very beautiful town with a small museum about Nepal farming live, and we also visited hot springs in Jhinu. We heard from other travelers that Annapurna Base Camp is nice but very crowded and that if you have 2 weeks you should go for the Annapurna circuit.
Many travelers were with guides (+-porters) but also many travelers hiked alone. The paths are very clear (a lot of stairs even) so you can easily choose to go without a guide, but the extra info on Nepal life, nature, culture and not having to worry about anything made it totally worth it! We would recommend contacting Roshan about your trip in the Annapurna region.

Great guide! - We are so glad we had Roshan with us for the Mardi Himal trek. He was knowledgeable, patient and professional through the whole experience. More than anything he’s great for a chat about local culture, environments or history. I strongly recommend people looking for an independent trekking guide in the Annapurna region contact Roshan.

Best guide in the world - Roshan did not only live up to all his reviews, he exceeded and went above and beyond to look after us and make sure we had the best time trekking with him!
A massive thank you for everything you taught us and showed us along the way. We couldn't have had a better guide and friend! If you go trekking with him and get a chance to try his momos after, they are the best!
Not only did Roshan plan our trip with him perfectly, he also helped us to book paragliding when we got back. He's truly kind and caring and knows sooooo much, which is incredible to get to go trekking with and experience.
We'll definitely be in touch next visit! :)

Manaslu Trek with Roshan - reliable and earnest - My partner and I walked the Manaslu circuit trek together with Roshan in May ‘23. It was to be the first time any of us had walked this route, Roshan included. From the outset Roshan was responsive to messages and diligent with issuing the necessary permits and keeping us informed of progress. He was punctual throughout the trip (he was waiting on us a lot though!) and well organised. He was also happy to discuss all range of topics while we walked and rested - from local flora and fauna, geography, to local culture and traditions and politics. We successfully made it over the Larke Pass (although the weather was terrible), Roshan assisted in doing this safely. I am sure that the next group he leads over will benefit from what he learned in doing this trek with us for the first time.
Upon finishing the trek Roshan invited us to his house and cooked us his famous Dal Bhat - the best we ate while in Nepal! It was good getting to know Roshan better throughout the 2.5 weeks we spent together. I would welcome Roshan to our house if he ever visits Australia.

TERRIBLE. TRAUMATIC. WORST GUIDE EVER. - NOBODY SHOULD BOOK THEIR TRIP WITH THIS MAN. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A WOMAN TRAVELING ALONE DO NOT BOOK WITH ROSHAN. While he was very knowledgeable of the area and was understanding that I was a beginner trekker, he persistently hit on me and made me feel unsafe during our trek. He insisted that we share a room and proceeded to cross many boundaries with me. Not only did he try to convince me to spend the night alone at his home, he continued to make me seriously uncomfortable and CONTINUED to pursue me well after our trip ended. I would VERY HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND him to my fellow female travelers. Amongst all the things he taught me, the most important lesson was TO NOT TRUST MEN when traveling alone in Nepal. He doesn’t deserve any business at all.
