In stark contrast to the flashy tourist hub of Lakeside, its steep southwestern coast is heavily wooded and teeming with avian species. The vibrant Rani Ban, otherwise known as the Queen’s Forest, imparts a jade tint to the lake. On bright days, reflections of the Annapurna mountains are clearly visible on the lake’s serene surface. Vibrantly colored doongas (boats) can be rented at Lakeside for a delightful lake experience.
