From Sarangkot Hill in Pokhara, Nepal, you can witness breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. As the sun rises, these majestic peaks are bathed in golden hues, creating a stunning backdrop for the picturesque Phewa Lake below. On clear days, you can also catch a glimpse of the iconic Machapuchare, known as the “Fishtail” mountain, rising dramatically in the distance. Our Sarangkot Sunrise Half Day Morning Tibetan Cultural Tour offers a unique chance to experience awe-inspiring panoramic views of the beautiful Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges from the vantage point of Sarangkot hill.

Following the memorable sunrise and mountain viewing at Sarangkot, our Tibetan guide will lead you through the local Tibetan community, enhancing your understanding and knowledge of Tibet, its inhabitants, Buddhism, culinary practices, culture, art and craftsmanship.

Led by Mr. Thupten, a native Tibetan who was born and raised in a Tibetan village in Pokhara valley, our tours come with a wealth of insight into the life of Tibetan people in Nepal, and the preservation of the Tibetan language & Buddhist traditions. And so, we enthusiastically invite our guests to pose any queries they may have regarding the Tibetan people and their culture.

AMAZING WOW 🤩 - Wow! Not enough words to describe this amazing exceptional trip i had with knowledgeable guide Thupten, very professional, exciting with good energy, I learned so much about the Tibet culture, the village and talking with a monk is absolutely eye opening. The sunrise is beyond any word to describe, I highly recommend it with love.

Amazing - This was a fantastic tour. It was eye opening learning about the struggles and resilience of the Tibetan refugees in Nepal. The sunrise was incredible and the educational lesson on the car ride down was such a lovely way to transition to breakfast- a traditional Tibetan breakfast- I loved trying butter tea and Tibetan bread won my heart- shame I was too full to eat a second piece!! Having the time to talk to a senior monk about Buddhism and his journey in the monastery was very lovely. Thanks again for this wonderful tour ❤️ Our guide Thupten also helped us organise our paragliding session- and we couldn’t be more thankful. We were also so lucky that this tour agency helped explain the local treks in the area- this was incredibly helpful and reduced our confusion.

Incredible!!🤩🤩 - amazing !!! i couldn’t recommend this tour enough 😊 Our tour was lead by Thupten who was both extremely knowledgeable and very kind, always happy to answer any questions we had. Seeing the sunrise on the Annapurna range was a fantastic start to the day, and the traditional Tibetan breakfast was delicious:)) Visiting the monastery was truly a unique experience and i learnt so much from talking to one of the senior monks there. Definitely would recommend this tour!!🫶

Just brilliant. - Oh my goodness. Completely exceeded all expectations. Thupten was a knowledgeable and kind tour guide. Butter tea was a revelation to me and the Tibetan bread was delicious. I would thoroughly recommend.

Amazing!! - I can highly recommend this tour to anyone who is slightly interested in Tibet and its culture and history. Thupten is an amazing guide and provides plenty if interesting information. The tour is well organized, and everything was really enjoyable. Thupten always made sure that everything was good. The Tibetian food was amazing and all the stops in the tour are delightful. I would 100% do this tour again.

Excellent morning tour with beautiful sights, tastes and learning. - Wow! This sunrise tour did not disappoint! Thupten was a beautifully organised guide, easily getting us to the top of Sarangkot for a stunning sunrise, before a traditional Tibetan breakfast and visit to the Monastery. His generously shared his thorough knowledge of Tibetan culture, history and people, such that I am walking away inspired to learn more. What a way to start the morning! I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to witness the beauty of Pokhara’s sunrise over the Himalayas, whilst learning about the people of Tibet and their culture.

Amazing - This is a great way to see a spectacular sunrise and get an insight into the Tibetan culture and how they have adapted to life in Nepal. Thupten is a fantastic guide, who is knowledgeable and passionate about his culture and country. As well as seeing the sunrise in Sarangkot, we visited a Tibetan refugee village (where I got to have a delicious Tibetan breakfast) and visited a Buddhist monastery. I would definitely recommend doing this tour when in Pokhara.

Enlightening in sunrise - Very well-organized tour. The best part of the tour was the guide "Thupten Gyatso'. He was great, experienced, and sophisticated. I learned very useful information about the culture in Tibetian settlements. Visiting the monastery was an enlightening experience that I will never forget in my entire lifetime. Thank you Thupten Gyatso for organizing amazing half-day tour.

Favourite part of my Nepal trip - A perfect way to learn about Tibetan culture and history without actually going to Tibet. The tour guide is a super nice man and an incredible storyteller with a wealth of knowledge about Tibet. Cannot recommend more!
