My dream came through even more than I expected - The highlight of my trip to Nepal and a dream come through! I’m not the hiking sort but I’ve always wanted to see the Himalayan ranges and this was my main bucket list to Nepal. The flight was superb and I enjoyed every moment of it. The views were stunning and the flight was exciting. Definitely a must-do when in Nepal to see God’s creation and the amazing mountains. I was almost in tears!

Pokhara- Up Close and Personal - Having been on my list of things to do for a long time, I finally had the opportunity to discover Pokhara from the skies. As luck would have it the day was clear with excellent visibility.
The experience was like none other, and the sights were breathtaking. Added with the best customer service- from a friendly staff picking up and dropping off to the hotel, smiling attendants taking care of all safety measures to an experienced pilot flying you around Pokhara, it was a perfect start to the morning. A definite recommend for anyone visiting Pokhara. Thank you Manish Adhikari and team!

ONCE IN LIFETIME EXPERIENCE TO WATCH HIMALAYAS SO CLOSELY - We three friends had pleasure of enjoying 90 minutes Ultralight flights at Pokhara on 26th April, 2023 morning. Two of us were in open aircrafts and one in closed aircraft.
OUR EXPERIENCE:
An Ultralight is a two-seated small aircraft with powered engine designed to carry no more than two people - pilot and one passenger. It has an imposed speed limit of less than 130 km/hr. Average speeds are about 80 km/hr.
Flying in Ultralights flight is not a recreational activity but also a great fun. Thankfully Nepal is blessed with one of the most beautiful landscapes in the world with 8000 m high snow capped mountains, green hills, serene rivers and lakes.
Thankfully, the weather was clear on the day we took this flight and the pilots took us very close to snow capped mountains – particularly Annapurna Range and Fishtail (Machhapichhu) peaks. Though from our hotel in Sarangkot we had very good views of this Range of mountains, but that was nothing after we viewed them so closely during our 90 minutes flights.
The Avia Club staff made best possible efforts to prepare us with this open flight with all required clothes, hand gloves and helmet etc. The Club takes best possible precautions so that tourists can have safest possible flight.
The Club gives few other options of 30 minutes and 60 minutes flights. But, we feel 90 minutes flight is possibly the best option.
We strongly recommend this flight to make one’s visit to Pokhara complete. We also suggest that flyers must opt for video facility offered by the Club with one suggestion – instead of keeping video camera focussed on the flyer most of the time, the video camera should be turned towards scenic mountains so that the flyers can re-visit the scenic beauty as many times as they desire post this wonderful experience. The pilot has required control to rotate the video camera as desired.

Life Experience - Avia offers several different flight. This one is an ultralight that's very similar to paragliding, except you're in a small craft. These flights are up to an hour long. The flight goes over the city and is very fun. For the ULTIMATE experience, book the 90 minute flight on the small ultralight "fixed wing" craft which goes up over 15k ft and into the Annapurna passes up close to the mountains- like within 100 ft. It is absolutely thrilling and one of the best experiences you will have. The company is outstanding and eager to please. We were unsure of what we booked and had a misunderstanding- but they made everything right- plus some. The pilots are outstanding.
If you can make it to Pokhara- this is an absolute MUST DO! We actually flew to Pokhara just for this and it was well worth it!
Buy the go-pro video. It's a great keepsake.
This deserves higher than 5*!
Thank you for such a fabulous experience!

Awesome , Epitome of Professionalism is an Understatement - Being an adventurous gypsy , I had decided to avail of the services of Avia Club , Pokhara , having 24 years of blemishless service , 22,908 total flying hours and 43,262 happy customers . It was the most cooperative , customer friendly and professional aviation club offering Paragliding , Training and Ultralight flights . As I had to take photographs and had not more than three days at Pokhara , Paragliding and Training were out of consideration .
Avia Club offers i ) Fly for Fun Ultralight (15 min. flight) at US $95.00 . This shortest flight takes one over the city of Pokhara , Phewa lake , near Sarangkot hill , over the Buddha monastery and the south side of the city .
ii ) Glory of Mt . Fishtail Ultralight (30 min. flight) at US $170.00 This flight takes one close to the Mount Fishtail (Mt. Machhapuchhre) foothills with the speed of approximately 90 km/hr .
iii) Mountain Range Sky Trek Ultralight ( 60 min . flight ) at US $270.00 . This flight covers the entiree Annapurna range with the speed of 90 km/hr to 130 km/hr and the altitude of 4,000 m . One can fly around the city and through the valley and eventually make her way to the edges of Mt. Fishtail . On this flight she is so close to the mountain it feels like she could practically wipe the snow off the peak with her hand. While flying through the air she can see 4 of Nepal’s 9 highest peaks including Annapurna 1, Annapurna 2, Dhaulagiri, and Manasalu . These are all over the 7900 meter mark .
iv ) Into the Heart of the Mountains Ultralight ( 90 min . flight ) at US : $390.00 . One can fly past remote mountain villages that even while trekking she can miss . The experience of being surrounded by the Himalayas is a once in a lifetime experience . Passengers who’ve flown on this flight described it simply as “Bliss”!
Additional charges:
* All government charges : US $5 Airport service charge & 13% VAT (a value-added tax) will be subjected on above fare .
I booked online my Mountain Range Sky Trek Ultralight flight at 0730 on 13th Nov , 2018 at US $ 280 with 10 % discount on 12th Oct 2018 . Pick up time was 30 mins before prior to my flight and from Fishtail Lodge , where I would be staying .
Unfortunately , weather was not in mood to entertain me . So without any hiccup , Kusum Lamba of Avia Club accommodated me for the same flight at the same time on next day . Again on 14th the weather was not in good mood . Still I was lucky to board the ultralight plane at 0800 . After completing the necessary paper work at the airport , I was guided to the Avia Club hanger . Though I wore sweaters , a good jacket and woollen handgloves , I was asked to wear weatherproof pant ,another heavy jacket , leather handgloves and a helmet . I was weighed then . Luckily my overall weight was less than 100 kg and so I was allowed to board the plane .
My Ultralight plane was a two-seated small aircraft with powered engine designed to carry no more than two people ( pilot and passenger ) , with a maximum fuel capacity of 90 liters , a total weight of less than 600 kg , including fuel and persons onboard and an average speed of about 80 km/hr .
Ultralight planes are of two types – open and close . Close planes are really closed with wide glass windows on both sides which can be just partly opened to take photographs . Open ones are just naked . I preferred open one to facilitate me with photography so I had to put on so many layers of warm clothes .
My plane looked like a two wheeler with a delta wing attached above . The pilot had a windshield not bigger than what a scooty would have. I sat behind the highly professional and well experienced pilot .
I had the bird’s eye view of Pokhara , Phewa lake , Fishtail Lodge where I stayed , Valley , and what not . Later we moved to Sarangkot , over the mountains such as Annapurna 1 ( 8,091 m ) , Annapurna 2 ( 7,937m ), Dhaulagiri ( 8,167 m ) , Fishtail ( 6,993 m ) and Manaslu ( 8,156 m ) . I thoroughly lived my life then and there . I travelled a lot in the Himalayas . But this was the most adventurous moment of my life . I fully lived every nano second of my adventure .
The Avia Club provided excellent service from the beginning till the end . Ms kusum Lama highly impressed me with her customer service . The ground staff was ever cooperative and smiling .The pilot was friendly and professional .
When I safely returned to the hanger , within minutes I was viewing the most amazing and excellent video footage of my flight on a TV screen at the Avia desk . I was asked to purchase a copy of the GoPro video which I politely refused as I had learnt from earlier reviewers that the format in which it was provided to them was difficult to see as it was like a sim card to be used in one’s phone but is not compatible with many iPhones , smartphones , laptops , etc . If I would have got the recording in my pendrive it would have been better . I was given a certificate for undertaking the flight successfully .
I wish to visit Pokhara again and enjoy Into the Heart of the Mountains Ultralight ( 90 min . flight ) with Avia Club only .

Short visit to Heaven- Avia ultralight mountain flight - I arrived in Pokhara with the intention of having a 1 hour ultralight trip up to the mountains. The first day the Avia pickup took me to the airport I was told that visibility was poor so i rebooked for the following early morning . I was told flying conditions were then good so I was dressed in warm clothing at the avia office in the airport and put all my belongings in a locker. It was made clear that use of a mobile phone was not possible on the flight. I was told that there was an on board video camera but sometimes there were technical problems and they could not guarantee a good recording.
The flight was quite simply the most memorable, exciting, life-changing , rewarding and impressive experience I ever had. I was squeezed in behind the nepalese pilot in a plane body no bigger than a domestic bath tube. The tiny motor , not much bigger than a lawnmower, roared power and we were suddenly airborne looking at pokhara houses and temples and the lake from far above.
There was cloud around but off we headed off over the hills and on to the mountains. Eventually, after about 20 minutes they came into view
with snow-covered tops and we seemed so close . I was warm and comfortable, yet in a flimsy flying machine high above many clouds and level with the mountain tops.
We circled and climbed, allowing the camera to take amazing footage. The 20 minutes in the mountain tops is the closest feeling of heaven you can get on this earth and I loved it. Although the risks of the adventure were obvious the only feeling at that time was sublime pleasure and gratitude at having had the experience.
All too soon we were heading back over the lush green fields, circling the lake a few times and then landing gently on the runway. Within minutes I was viewing the most amazing video footage on a TV screen at the Avia desk.
I would not do the flight again because it was perfect and could never be bettered. I will always remember how exhilarating it was. I was given a certificate documenting the flight, which will be framed when I get home.
Give yourself a treat. Do a 1 hour flight with Avia . It is the ultimate holiday experience in the Himalayas. The pilot , ground staff and office staff were all very pleasant and professional.
