At 14:00, you will be picked up from the designated starting location and transported to Wasgamuwa National Park.
Wasgamuwa National Park is the fifth largest National Park in Sri Lanka, covering a sprawling 36,900 hectares. Positioned in a region with a dry climate, the park receives between 1650mm to 2150mm of rainfall annually with a dry spell from April to October and a wet season from November to March. The major draw here is the congregations of elephants, which numbered 360 in a 2011 census. Moreover, Wasgamuwa is home to 143 bird species out of the 495 reported species in Sri Lanka, including 9 endemics. During your safari, a guide from the Wildlife Department will accompany you, providing you a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appreciate the magnificent Sri Lankan wildlife.
The day will conclude at 18:00 when you will be taken back to your hotel after the safari.
