Experience a 2-hour tour of the ancient ruins of Pompeii led by a professional archaeologist guide and skip the line tickets included in a small group of maximum 20 people. Walk through the ruins and explore this ancient city, buried by Vesuvius in 79 AD. Learn about the history of the town and how the Romans lived and see all the most important public buildings and private houses.
Visit the Western part of the town. You will see the Marina Gate, the Basilica, the Forum, the baths, the Lupanar (brothel), the bakery, the house of Faun, the Termopolium, the main street, the Plaster Casts of the dead’s, and the Theaters.
The tour is available in English, Italian, French, Spanish, Portuguese and German and starts at the main entrance of Pompeii Ruins, called Porta Marina Superiore.
- Tour will be available all year around with rain or shine
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Wear comfortable shoes, sunglasses and sunscreen in the summer.
- Bring a small bottle of water
- For under18 y.o. travelers, please bring your ID card/passport with you
- Not recommended for travelers with mobility issue or impairments, because of steps and ramps, little steep climb, please contact us and ask for a suitable private tour for your needs

Great tour - This was well organized and Marilyn was an excellent tour guide. We learned a great deal in a short period of time. We recommend this tour, especially if you have limited time to explore Pompei.

Theresa was fantastic! - Theresa was an amazing guide! She guided us through Pompei with her expert knowledge and skilfully kept us all entertained. Walked at a good pace while providing ample opportunities in the shade to escape the heat of the day. So glad we booked this and got her as she made us all feel like family.

Well Worth The Money - We booked this at the last minute as we were coming straight from the airport and weren’t sure of our timing. I reserved it based on the reviews even though it was a little more expensive. I am so glad I made that choice. It was perfect. The guide was well informed, funny, and clearly enjoyed her job. They provide headphones so everything is very clear. The site is well worth the trip, the time, the heat, and the money.

Best archaeologist, Jasmine, as our guide! - We absolutely loved this experience!! Our guide Jasmine was incredibly knowledgeable (she has a PhD in archaeology!) and engaging throughout! We enjoyed every moment: all her facts, stories, and many fascinating details relayed to us in the most relatable way! It was well-paced despite the extreme summer heat and she was so thoughtful and made sure we had shade and hydration at the right moments.

Tonya is the best! - The tour was great, Tonya informed us well and answered all our questions, showed us the most beautiful and interesting places in Pompei. She is amusing, but professional. It was very hot and Tonya tried to keep us in shadow. I fully recommend the experience.

AWFUL - find a different tour group - This was terrible. Viator should be embarrassed to have this group part of their company. Poor organization for getting tickets, multiple issues with ear pieces for the tour. Worst part was guide leaving with almost zero goodbye at the end. We had no idea of right direction to travel to exit Pompeii. It took us over 45 minutes to exit properly…ridiculous! This was a cluster and would not recommend this to anyone.
