Additional Information

Delight in a one-stop experience of history, viticulture, and the great outdoors! Your journey begins at the historic ruins of Pompeii. Here, an expert in archaeology will guide you (2 hours duration) through the echoes of this long-gone city, recreating a vibrant image of life during one of history’s most significant empires: The Roman Empire. Stuck in the past since AD 79, Pompeii enables us to take a step back in time and tangibly connect with history, almost 2,000 years prior.

Upon concluding the guided walk-through, get ready to awaken the Italian within you and set off on your Vesuvian vineyard tour, with a dedicated chauffeur accompanying you for the rest of the day. The vineyards on the itinerary are all located within the Vesuvius National Park, renowned for its fertile volcanic soil that gives rise to indigenous grape varieties. The outcome is the celebrated Lacryma Christi (Tears of Christ), a wine said to be most akin to the variety savored by the ancient Romans.

Lots and lots of wine - Excellent day trip from Naples. Easy pick up from our hotel and transfer to Pompeii with Roberto. Bit of a wait at Pompeii due to a pair of no-shows, but then we had a 2 hour ish guided tour of the ruins with Analisa. She was superb - funny, knowledgeable and excellent company. We cannot recommend her highly enough. The reasonably short, laid back walk around was exactly what we like. Pompeii itself is great, but I think we got lucky with unusually rubbish weather and a lack of cruise ships in port, so it wasn't overly busy. We quickly got the cultural bit out of the way, and Lorenzo picked us up for the main event - visits to two local vineyards on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius. I can't remember the names, but both were excellent (I can't remember much at all from the last part of the tour). The first one was fancy and shiny with excellent wine, very polished with a golf buggy tour around. The second one was a more basic operation but more interesting for me. Wine possibly not as good as the first one, but also nowhere near as expensive. Both had excellent food included. And plenty of wine tasting, more importantly. Lorenzo then took us back to our hotel in Naples where I needed a short nap to compose myself before going out for tea. Overall a splendid day out which me and the wife feel was a very lucky find. It's exactly the kind of thing we like to do on holiday. The city of Naples itself, and the surrounding area, is a great place for a long weekend away. We loved it, really interesting city full of stuff to do.

Ciro is the best - Ciro was the best tour guide we could have gotten. He made us feel like we were in 79 AD. The 2 wineries were amazing and we had a funny driver named Gennarro.

Recommended 😊 - “A lovely day tour 😎 The guide in Pompeii was good, a skilled guide who had a lot of knowledge. Lunch and good wines together with nice Americans at the first vineyard. The second vineyard was the one that surprised me most. Lovely view, good food and very good wines. The trip was worth every crown!”

Full day, would recommend - We had an awesome day, we walked to the train station in Sorento from the cruise port, took the train to Pompeii. We met with Sonya who guided us through the ruins, beating the crowds while explaining everything throughly. After 2 hours we were transported to our 1st winery, Bosco De Medici, where we were provided a tour of their winery and grounds. Then off to wine tasting and a bite to eat. The wines were outstanding, we tasted 5 wines and limoncello. Our group liked all that we tasted and and had a good meal. We purchased wine and our purchase was shipped to our house. Then off to our 2nd winery, Tenuta Sorrentino, for our next tasting. The views were outstanding, the atmosphere was relaxed. The wines were good, but not as good as the 1st winery. They used the same glasses for the wines without rinsing them out. If we did the tour again we would have went to the ruins and 1 winery, however the views of the second winery made it worth the trip. We were then driven back to the cruise port in Serento.

Don't Skip the Wine! - Unfortunately, we missed the tour of Pompeii as we were running late. But the wine tours were amazing! Lorenzo our driver was so kind and knowledgeable. We had such a great time with him. He was a local so gave great tips for the area. Would miss the Pompeii tour again just for him.

Second Winery was so bad - Our Pompeii guide and experience was absolutely amazing. The first winery was perfection. The wine and food were all delicious with wonderful service. It turned out we were the only couple who booked the second winery. It was not good. The wine and food were inferior to any other wine tour I have ever done. The sharing of vans was crazy. While we were one place our driver had taken other people places and dropped them off. We had a bottle of wine stolen from the first winery even though we were told we could leave it on the van. If I had been told the van was shared I would never have left anything on.

Amazing Ruins…Amazing Wine! - This was a great excursion! The ruins at Pompei are unbelievable and the guide was very knowledgeable and provided an excellent tour. Highly recommend wearing closed toed shoes as the description says as there are a lot of dirt “roads” and areas. If you go during the summer, a fan or spray bottle and water will help keep you cool as it does get pretty hot. The winery visits afterwards were amazing, especially Bosco de’ Medici. They provided a golf cart tour if the winery, delicious food and expert description of the wine by a sommelier. It was one of my favorite experiences that we had in Italy. Only gave it 4 stars because I didn’t particularly love the second winery, but overall it was a wonderful trip!
