Fantastic tour! - Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. He really made the experience great! Logistically, everything ran smoothly: on time pick-up, just enough time at each stop, driver there when we were ready to go. Overall a fantastic experience!

Highly recommended! - Lucco (if I am writing the name correct) was so tentative and caring! His experience was undeniable but what impressed me was that he really cared for all the group to hear the information and be under the shade. He was very experienced, professional and well qualified! The ruins were incredible and the story behind them was so touching and interesting as behind the tragedy of the story you get to see parts of these people every day life back then.

Excellent tour - Excellent tour! Rafael was great, very informative and kept it entertaining and fun. Was great to see both Pompeii and Herculaneum. Both so impressive but different stories.

Excellent tour - This tour was truly exceptional. Gennaro was probably the most knowledgeable guide I have ever had the privilege of meeting, and he did a very good job maintaining a good pace despite some older folks in our group that weren't as swift as they may have been in their younger years. The combination of Herculaneum and Pompeii was perfect. Pompeii is Pompeii of course, but Herculaneum is smaller, less crowded, and arguably better preserved. I was very glad to have been able to see both. PS: in case it's unclear from the description, we did have enough time to break for lunch. It just wasn't included in the cost of the tour.

Mediocre - The place is spectacular and the driving was solid…but our guide seemed bored, hot and crabby. We raced by a lot of things where other tours were gathered. I started evesdropping on other to learn stuff. Also? We get it…therr was a brothel. We’re not 12 years old

Race across the ruins! - The guided trip was in the main excellent through there were a couple of things that spoiled the experience for us. In the morning we visited Herculaneum - the site was fairly quiet and we walked round at a steady pace with very informative commentary about the remains and how Romans had lived in the town. We then traveled to Pompeii arriving at lunch time when we were encouraged ti have lunch in the cafe opposite the main gate (this was excellent) By the time we set off to go round Pompeii it was very hot and very crowded and our guide set a blistering pace. The site was crowded and the bluetooth ear pieces (which work on line of site) meant that if he entered a building or went round a corner the commentary stopped. We are taken to see some interesting buildings on the site, but struggled to keep up with the group. As we returned to the forum someone at the front of the group told our guide we were struggling and they had lost site of us, so the group stopped but only until we caught up - so there was not time to recover before they set off again at speed. Our frustration was only increased by the fact that the bus got us back to the Plaza Garibaldi an hour before the advertised finish time! I've only given this trip three stars because the headlong rush across Pompeii almost ruined the experience for us. The whole point of booking for a small group is that we didn't want this kind of thing to happen.
