Explore the UNESCO World Heritage site to witness the incredible remnants of old shops, temples, and residences, including the stunning House of the Vettii. The tour concludes with a stroll atop the city fortifications, offering an expansive view of Naples and Capri. This small-group tour is kept to a maximum of 15 participants for a more intimate travel experience.

Please arrive 15 minutes prior the start of the tour. This tour meets at the Entrance Gate for the Pompeii Archaeological Park across from the Hortus Pompei restaurant. Your guide will be holding a green walks sign.

Can't miss for lovers of history - Ilaria was our guide and she was fantastic. Knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic. We would have followed her for another 3 hours if we could have! Taking a tour gives so much more depth and emotion to the experience. Highly recommended.
SOME ADVICE, we arrived by train from Naples and got confused as to the meeting place, head to the main entrance to Pompeii (don't get drawn into the swarm of people directing you into a "tour office" located directly outside the train depot).

Exceptional Experience - We had an excellent experience. Our guide, Serena, was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic, engaging and looked out for everyone in the group. The pace allowed for much sharing of information as well as time for questions and photos. Serena also pointed out things we might want to visit at the end of the scheduled tour. This is our second experience with Walks of Italy; I highly recommend them!

Fantastic guiding at Pompeii - Our guide was very knowledgeable about Pompeii; she worked there as an archaeologist and also teaches archaeology. Her presentation was engaging and kept our interest throughout the three-hour tour. She brought the people who lived in Pompeii to life through her stories, and showed us a range of buildings around the site. Thanks, Illario! Everything was well-arranged, and the tour started and ended on time.

Great experience, solid guide - Enzo was a fantastic guide. He was able to answer all of our questions, did a good job navigating crowds and shared many interesting stories and information that we did not know, even from previous visits.

Very Informative - Having done tours around Pompeii previously this was by far the best tour I have done. The guide, Vito, was very informative and interesting. We got to go to different places from other tours. The highlight was definitely seeing the newly excavated buildings. Can highly recommend this tour.

Totally worth it. Archaeolog buffs should budget extra time after the tour! - Our train from Sorrento was delayed but we made it to the tour just in time. Catarina was an excellent guide, professional and very clear. Pompeii is MASSIVE, it was really helpful to have a guide. We stayed on after the tour and continued to explore the other parts of Pompeii not covered by the tour. Archaeology buffs - budget extra time after the tour!

Great tour guide - Ilaria was our lovely, lively tour guide. She is an archeologist and has worked on Pompeii digs in the past. She is full of wonderful stories and explanations for Pompeii. Anyone would be very fortunate to have her as a guide. I loved her cat umbrella!
