A guided two-hour tour of the Pompeii ruins awaits you. The city of Pompeii was obliterated and subsequently buried during a devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius that lasted two days in 79 AD. The disaster led to the collapse of even the tallest buildings and blanketed Pompeii under 25 feet of ash and molten rocks. It remained hidden for roughly 1700 years until its accidental unearthing in 1748. From that point onwards, archaeological digs have yielded an immensely detailed picture of life in a Roman city in its prime.

A two-hour guided tour of the ruins of Herculaneum is also available. Herculaneum, originally established by the Oschi tribe in the 8th century BC, would later fall under the control of the Etruscans and Samnites. During the reign of the Romans, the city was a famous resort by the seaside where the most affluent Romans would vacation during the summer.

Lastly, you’ll visit Cantina del Vesuvio, positioned on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, where you’ll be able to sample the culinary and viticultural offerings of the Campania region.
