Highlights
  • Pompeii Archaeological Park - One of the most important archaeological site in the World, Pompeii is like a city frozen in time. The dramatic eruption of Vesuvius on August 24, 79 A.D., destroyed this flourishing city but also preserved a slice of Ancient Roman life. Your will walk down Roman streets and snoop around millennia-old houses, temples, shops, cafes, amphitheatres, and even a brothel.
  • Parco Acheologico di Ercolano - Allegedly founded by Hercules, a lot of travellers prefer Herculaneum to Pompeii as it is much smaller and better preserved. This ancient site is one of the few places in the world that can be seen in almost its original conditions, because a deep layer of hot mud buried it deeply, preserving everything beneath. You will find thousands of everyday objects, from price lists outside the shops, to beds, doors and even food.
  • Vesuvius National Park - The only active Volcano on mainland Europe will capture you with its unmatched views of the area from the top.

The cone stays roughly 4200 feet high, but however far you will venture up you will be able to see the entire gulf of Naples, from Sorrento to Capo Miseno, to Procida & Ischia.

Take the opportunity to trek up to the top and peer into its enormous crater!

Tour of Pompei/Herculaneum - We had such a wonderful experience with Maria. She is very knowledge and was flexible with our plans. Despite the rainy weather, we still had an amazing time! We also appreciated our driver Alfonso! We would HIGHLY recommend Maria and Alfonso!!

Incredible experience that makes the ruins become alive - Wow! AMAZING! Tour guide has a real sense of humor as well as being super articulate and creating a comfortable environment. The amount of knowledge was impeccable and so particularly pictured.. Visiting alone would not have been nearly as enjoyable. The tour guide was so attentive, providing us water and bringing us to Pomei in the morning to avoid crowds and making sure the heat wouldn't be unbearable. Transfer driver was also very punctual and provided free water the whole day. Our tour guide was named "Paulo".

Great service - We used Joe Bananas Limos for our recent holiday in Italy. We used them for several tours and transfers. From start to finish, all services were at such a high standard. The whole team were professional and made our holiday that much more comfortable and our day trips special. Would definitely recommend them!

Amazing look at history - guided tour added so much context - Our driver, Giuseppe, was very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. We started our day at Herculaneum with a private tour with Paolo. He we very personable and guided us through the ruins at a pace that allowed us to ask questions and avoid some of the larger groups that were also visiting. On to Vesuvius where Giuseppe stayed close by in the event we were unable to make the full trek up to the crater. Ended the day with lunch and a visit to Pompeii. So vast compared to Herculaneum...truly a memorable day with great weather. Thank you again to Giuseppe for making the experience so special!

Amazing look at history - Our driver was extremely knowledgeable and our private tour of Herculaneum was a great pace and very informative. Amazed at vastness of Pompeii and the intricate work done on both restorations. Vesuvius was worth the hike!

Excellent experience - My parents, my wife and I went on a private tour with Antonio as our driver and Paolo as our tour guide. The day was FANTASTIC! Both gentlemen were amazing hosts and made our day everything we wanted it to be. The sites were amazing and the day was tailored to what we wanted to do. We would highly recommend Joe Banana for your Sorrento tour. I’m sure they have many great drivers and guides, but if your lucky enough to get Antonio and Paolo your day will be amazing!!

Memorable and Fun Experience, great photos - Our driver was very friendly and lots of fun. Talkative and lots of jokes. He took us to a nice espresso place on the way and it was really good. Pompeii was amazing, and well worth doing with him as a tour guide (extra charge) - we got a lot more out of it hearing about the history and the explanation of key buildings and artifacts. Many stories to go along with it. Nice view of Vesuvius as well from the city of Pompeii. Herculaneum we decided to explore on our own pace, and have to admit - got a bit lost in the ruins trying to find a few spots (so having the guide proved very helpful!) Very well preserved ruins, and worth seeing in addition to Pompeii - both are a bit different. Mt. Vesuvius was really amazing. Indeed, it is a good hike to the top and it was windy and gravel, let alone we had to wear masks during the climb. We got there late in the day because of our other stops, but had just enough time to make it to the top, fortunately it was a clear blue day and we got amazing photos! On the way back along the Amalfi coast, our guide new the PERFECT place to stop for sunset and timed it just perfect. We got amazing photos there as well. A great experience and one of the top highlights of our trip. Thank You Paolo!

Well worth a visit - Another beautiful sight to tick off my bucket list! The walk up is tricky as it’s very dusty and steep but you can take breaks, I recommended taking photos of the scenery, just breathtaking! In August it was boiling hot you don’t need a jacket as I have seen many recommend you take one, maybe in winter months. Upon our trek we decided to get a lemon/orange ice drink and the women tried to con us out of money! She said I only gave her £10 when in fact I gave her a £20 note, I was adamant she was trying to scam me! Nonetheless, we carried on and enjoyed fantastic views all the way to the top of the crater. Well worth a visit!
