As you traverse the site, you’ll be astounded by the immensity of what has been conserved for over two millennia. Roam among the ruins, follow their stone-paved paths till you reach the centre of daily activities - the Forum. Marvel at the centaur statue, time-worn columns and more. Strolling through Pompeii is akin to flipping through a dynamic history book. It’s almost easy to visualise Romans socialising in the communal bathing spaces. Enter private residences and drop by the amphitheatre, one of the most ancient still standing.
- We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes and a bottle of water with you, especially on hot days.
- You can’t bring any large bags and backpacks inside the site. You can leave them at the entrance, where a free cloakroom service is available. You can retrieve them at the end of your visit.
- Taking into account that public transport is not entirely efficient and that your voucher will need to be exchanged with the ticket, please leave early enough to reach the site at least 15 minutes before the beginning of the tour. It is not guaranteed that any late arrivals will be accommodated.
