A perfectly -pitched and interesting introduction to Pompeii. A great way to engage children/teenagers in the story before you e - We visited on a Monday, having booked tickets online and travelled down from Rome where we were staying on holiday. The museum was a perfectly pitched introduction to Pompeii. My teenagers had a basic knowledge of the Romans and the history of Pompeii, but learned a lot. I am very interested in history, and I have been to Pompeii before, but I also found it very interesting. The guide was very clear and enthusiastic, and the virtual exhibits were also simple but very effective. The final scene with the volcano is genuinely awe-inspiring and gives you some feeling for what it must have been like. When you arrive at Pompeii, everyone is impatient to see the ruins...this visit was a perfect introduction and well worth the money. Not too long, not too much information, just enough to give you some context before you enter the site. Highly recommended!!
