- Forum - The Civil Forum is the heart of daily life in the city and serves as the center for all major public buildings related to city administration, justice, business management, trade activities like markets, and the main places of citizen worship.
- Tempio di Giove Capitolino - The Temple of Jupiter dominates the north side of the Forum, with Mount Vesuvius rising majestically behind. When the colony was established (80 BC), the temple underwent significant renovation and became a true Capitolium with three cult statues of Jupiter, Juno, and Minerva, resembling those of the Capitolium in Rome, placed on a high base to be visible to anyone passing through the Forum square.
- Macellum - The Macellum features a tuff quadriporticus with a worship hall elevated on the eastern side, aligned with the entrance. Copies of two marble statues, a female and a male armed figure, are found in the niches of the side wall, along with a fragment of a larger statue, likely representing an emperor, Titus or Vespasian, indicating this area was intended for the imperial cult. To its left is a room for sacred board meetings and to the right a large room with a masonry counter, possibly for selling fish.
- Via dell’Abbondanza - Via dell’Abbondanza was the main street (decumanus maximus) of ancient Pompeii, running across the city from east to west, from the Forum to Porta Sarno. In ancient times, the street was bustling and noisy with numerous shops, workshops (“officinae”), cafes, snack-bars, and restaurants offering food and drink.
- Stabian Baths (Terme Stabiane) - The Forum Baths are situated behind the Temple of Jupiter and date back to the years following the founding of the veteran colony by General Silla (80 BC). Separate entrances were provided for women’s and men’s quarters. The men’s section includes an apodyterium (dressing room), also used as a tepidarium (for medium temperature baths), frigidarium (for cold baths), and calidarium (for hot baths). Like many buildings in Pompeii, the baths suffered significant damage during the earthquake of 62 AD.
- Lupanar - The Lupanar of Pompeii is the most renowned brothel in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, notable for the erotic paintings on its walls. Lupanar is Latin for “brothel.” The Pompeii lupanar is also known as Lupanare Grande. The prostitutes in the brothel were primarily Greek and Oriental slaves, who were paid between two and eight Asses (a glass of wine cost one As) for their services.
- Casa del Fauno - Step inside the elegant House of the Faun, a grand Roman villa celebrated for its mosaics, including the remarkable Alexander Mosaic — a masterpiece of ancient art and storytelling.
- Teatro Grande - Admire the Large Theater, an open-air venue where crowds once gathered for comedies, dramas, and musical performances.
- Basilica - The Basilica, covering an area of 1,500 square meters, was the most opulent building of the Forum, used for conducting business and administering justice. It is accessed from the Forum through five entrances separated by tuff pillars; inside, it is divided into three naves with two rows of brick columns with Ionic capitals.

Concealed for centuries, Pompeii emerged as a premier attraction in the Campania Region following its discovery. The city has been remarkably preserved by the lava that solidified the area. Before the catastrophe, Pompeii was a vital commercial hub in the region. Today, it stands as a significant UNESCO World Heritage site.
