Silver Village Kompong Luong - This village is famous for its handcrafted products of pure silver with items such as elephant miniatures, embellished boxes, and other kinds of embossed work or on request.
Virtually the entire population of this village is craftsmen, the silver items from this village are distributed to both local and foreign markets. Every children growing up in the village naturally grasps how to craft silver, starting without being taught the most basics. There are about 30 - 40 families in this commune producing silver handicrafts, each is involved for three generation up and the average monthly production is 5-6 kilograms per family.

Oudong was established by King Srei Soryapor in 1601, following the desertion of Longvek. During King Ang Duong’s tenure (1841–1850), he orchestrated the construction of waterways, elevated land, and crossings, along with the creation of numerous pagodas in that vicinity.
From 1618 to 1866 it was officially known as Oudong Meanchey, serving as the residence for a series of monarchs who were unseated from the previous capital, Longvek, due to Thai incursions. In 1866, King Norodom relocated, relocating his royal residence to the present-day capital, Phnom Penh, and abandoning Oudong.
