Highlights
  • Oudong Temple - Oudong was the royal capital between 1618 and 1866 before the capital was moved to Phnom Penh, several temples and stupas cover three hills. These huge stupas can be seen from miles away and contain the remains of several Khmer kings including King Monivong (1927-1941) and King Ang Duong (1845-1859). The walk up the hill over 500 steps provides an excellent exercise especially the view countryside view. These hills were also the site of some of the Khmer Rouge’s most prolonged resistance against the Vietnamese army in 1979 and a memorial to those murdered by the Khmer Rouge was built on this place.

Brilliant. If you want to dive deeper into Cambodia and have someone guide you, do this. - Really would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to dig a little deeper into Cambodia. Having done the more obvious Killing Fields tour and seen some of the other sites of Phnom Penh, this was a great opportunity to get out and see the former capital and a little more of Cambodian life. As well as observing the towns and villages between locations, you’re also visiting sites that’s are important to and visited by local people, these are not overt tourist attractions so the experience feels very authentic. The driver was excellent, the guide just brilliant. To some extent you will always get out what you put in so ask questions. I learned a huge amount about Cambodia, its people, history and religion. Frankly, one of the best tour guides I’ve had on any tour (and there have been many). There is a market, it’s something else with the smells and sights of cooking. You do not have to eat a tarantula. You can. I didn’t.

Fantastic way to see the calm & quiet local life & culture outside PP - If you have a spare day in your trip to PP and would like to see the calm & chill outskirts, take this day tour. It’s fantastic to see history and local life, led by a wonderful guide and driver. Transport is smooth and comfortable, taking you from your hotel to the assigned destinations. A side trip to a silversmith house at the start, but not mandatory to buy, just appreciate the local industry.

Expensive your for what we got to see. - The tour guide Mr Tokk and driver were both very friendly and we could not fault them. The driver picked us up and dropped back to our hotel safely. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions about Cambodia, its history and culture. We Visited a silversmith house, and learnt how they made these beautiful pieces, enjoyed this. We visited the places as advertised in the tour, but a lot of the temples and areas were damaged and it didn’t feel like the areas were maintained at all. Some temples weren't that old and were unfinished. Was a bit disappointed of this tour, especially with the price of this tour.

Don’t book this tour - The tour was just not good and unfortunately not worth the money. We saw some beautiful places but the guide had no knowledge about it. Totally not recommending booking this tour

Bit of a disappointment - Our Guide, Tokk was excellent at explaining the cultural and religious customs, telling us about the cambodian history. He and our Driver took also efforts to find us a place where we could have some vegetarian lunch. I would give them 10 out of 10! I have rated the tour pretty low because of the price and the locations included in it. We paid $180 (for 2 people) for the tour, thinking that, since so many things included, it worths it. Unfortunately not! :( The places we visited all free of entry fees and seem to be possible to reach with a taxi.
