• Ponta Delgada - We will have lunch in a local restaurant to taste some Azorean food!

• Miradouro do Pico da Barrosa - You will get to know the geomorphology of the volcanic complex of Picos and Lagoa do Fogo (Fogo Lake)

• Lagoa do Fogo - At the viewpoint of Fogo Lake, you will be able to learn more about the eruption of 1563 as well as some very interesting facts about the Natural Reserve of Fogo Lake

• Caldeira Velha Environmental Interpretation Centre - We will visit the natural pools. A true outdoor spa where you will have free time to relax and feel the hotsprings.

• Salto do Cabrito - Here we will see and enjoy the waterfall Salto do Cabrito and you will find information about the hydroelectric station of São Miguel.

• Ribeira Grande - We will pass by the center of Ribeira Grande city

• Ponta Delgada - We will head back to Ponta Delgada.

Our journey will commence with us fetching you from Ponta Delgada at 9am, making our way to the outer ridge of the Sete Cidades’ crater. We’ll travel by numerous lookouts, offering you views of the serene blue and green lakes. After lunch, we shall bid farewell to this enchanting spot, moving on to another beautiful place: Fogo Lake.
A local lunch in a Ponta Delgada restaurant will serve as our intermission. In the post-lunch session, we’ll escort you to the breathtaking nature sanctuary of Lagoa do Fogo, a place renowned for its stunning scenery. This is one of the island’s most frequented spots and your visit will provide ample proof of its popularity. The volcano summit offers awe-inspiring vistas of São Miguel, encompassing both the North and South coasts.
But that’s not all! We’ll navigate to Caldeira Velha, home to a warm, iron-rich waterfall that permits a comfortable swim, the volcanic activity heating the water up to 26°C (79°F).
