• Lagoa do Fogo - Begin this tour by driving up to the Fire Volcano, where the Lagoa do Fogo (Fire Lagoon) is nestled. At the summit of São Miguel’s most recent volcanic formation, you’ll find excellent photo opportunities of both the south and north sides of the island. Immerse yourself in nature, accompanied by the sounds of abundant birdlife. (We may need to adjust our visit time depending on cloud coverage.)
• Ribeira Grande - Explore Ribeira Grande, the second-largest city in São Miguel and the Azorean surf capital. Visit the iconic beaches on the north side, see a waterfall that drops directly into the ocean, and stroll around the historic main square and churches to discover why it’s named Ribeira Grande.
• Miradouro de Santa Iria - As we continue, we’ll leave the main road to explore some of the older paths used by our ancestors to travel through the north, where nature has reclaimed its space due to minimal human intervention. Enjoy stunning views of the northern cliffs, hills, and pastures from privileged viewpoints.
• Porto Formoso Tea Factory - Tour a tea factory with a beautiful garden and a breathtaking sea view. Here, we’ll admire the ancient buildings preserved to this day while learning about the different types of tea produced. Enjoy a tasting of hot or cold tea, organically produced without any additives.
• Plantacoes de Cha Gorreana - Discover traditional tea cultivation in the Azores, one of the few places in Europe that fully produces tea. Taste organic black or green tea, visit the gift shop with various options to take home, and optionally walk to a hidden gem—a waterfall unknown even to some locals.
• Achadinha - Delight your taste buds with regional cuisine at a buffet offering meat, fish, and vegetarian options. The meal includes a starter, main course, drink, dessert, and coffee.
• Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeiroes - Explore the picturesque waterfalls of the island, where water flows continuously and nature is lush and vibrant. The Ribeira dos Caldeirões natural park is one of the most iconic places on the northeast side of the island. Walk along various waterfalls and old water mills, with great photo opportunities at every turn.
• Maia - Take a short walk along the coastline to enjoy the marvelous sea view and get a closer look at the cliffs that line the northern coast at the Miradouro do Tio Domingos.

• The remaining time of the Tour is the minimum time driving between our destinations. Don’t worry we’ll have plenty to see even while driving.
