Very knowledgable guide... - Very knowledgable guide with a calm demeanor. Felt like you were traveling with a wise and authentic friend. A bit quiet on the winding turns and thankfully paying attention to the road. Really enjoyed our tour with him.

When you want to know about Sao Miguel, here it is... - We were wondering what could we possibly see that would fill 8 hours? We not only saw some critical areas of Sao Miguel, we saw what we were missing and needed to return. Nuno did a fantastic job and we were able to see sooooo much and learn soooo much about Sao Miguel. Beginning with the pineapple plantation (who knew?) and then to the tea plantation (thanks Mirande), Nuno knew who to talk with and get us the right information and guides. We journeyed to the surfing beach and its history and then on to the locl distillery. We also visited the Caldeira hot baths and saw how they made stew using the thermal heat -- remarkable. Then it was an excellent local lunch, followed by a trip to a hidden waterfall, where some in our group took a dip and enjoyed a natural waterfall shower. Nuno also taught us about the white ginger flower and how we might extract the nectar. Very fun and informative. But there was more -- a trip to the Furnas hot baths and an easy soak, with great insight from Nuno -- he let us know about where to change, the waterfall and the interpretive center. He even made sure everyone could get in the baths if they wanted. We finished the day at the top of a ridge overlooking the beautiful Lake Fogo -- a wonderful conclusion to a remarkable day. And now we are ready to return at the earliest possibility.

How to cover a lot of ground in one day! - We had a very nice day on this tour with Antonio. He was very knowledgeable about San Miguel. We started at the Tea Plantation which was very interesting, learning the whole process. From there we went to the Botanical Gardens where we spent about 90 minutes. They were beautiful. We chose not to go into the hot springs because it was very crowded. After departing from there we ventured to To y’s restaurant for an authentic lunch where they make the stewed meat and veggies in the ground. There was a lot of food and although we enjoyed the experience, the food was heavy and bland. After leaving Tony’s, we went to Furnas to see the hot springs and geysers active right in the center of the village. It was very cool. Our next trip was to Ponta do Campo which was a beautiful village on the water. We went to see the famous mini cakes which we went back to buy more to bring home. Antonio brought us on a non-scheduled stop to Santuário Diocesano de Nossa Senhora da Paz. This stop was stunning. After that, we returned to Ponta Delgado. The only thing we did not do that was on the itinerary were the Pineapple Plantation. He pointed it out as we drove by, but did not stop

Do not recommend - While the places are extremely nice and don't need any support to be amazing (this is san miguel after all) we were disappointed by the trip. Ticket to the paraue terra nostra not included, lunch was not included, and these are huge portions of the day. So why am i paying 80$ then another 17 euros for the gardens and another 17 euros for lunch. You ho to an pineapple plantation expecting to be given pineapples but you also have to pay 5$. Makes no sense why a guided paid tour makes you for all of those things included in the tour. The guide was more of a driver than a guide and the information he gave were “useless” as he described them. Everything else visited and included was anyway for free by the properties. Each place is barely given 10 mins to see. You go in and out and you are rushed. What is the point. Don’t really recommend, rent a driver or a car, you’ll save more money and actually enjoy.
