• Ponta Do Sol - Ponta Do Sol is a gracious town that has a spacious main square and a beautiful townhall.

We gather at the tiny but lively harbour in front of the Tiduka hotel. Here we meet, have a coffee, and observe the activities that are taking place in the harbour. After a short introduction it is time to go for a hike! We walk up the steep mountain path and pass through colourful streets, green valleys and ocean landscapes. We are on our way to Fontainhas.

• Monte Fontainhas - Fontainhas is the village with the most beautiful view of Cape Verde according to National Geographic. This fairy-tale village in situated on a high precipitous piece of land in a deep green valley. During our waterbreak, a short description is given on the origin, geography and history of Fontainhas.

• Formiguinhas - We continue our hike down a steep path through the villages Corvo, Formiguinhas and Aranhas.

Our guides have extensive knowledge of animals and endemic plants. If we are lucky, we can spot different turtle and whale species. In Formiguinhas there is an opportunity to try local grogue and to experience chewing sugarcane.

After we leave Formiguinas we arrive in the ‘forgotten village’. This abandoned village is unique in its own away. You will find out why this village was abandoned and why the ribeira lost it’s colour on this side of the mountain.

• Praia d’Aranhas - By now we are pretty exhausted and ready for lunch. On this gorgeous black sand beach we can sometimes observe turtles nesting. Depending on the mood of the ocean we can swim or put our feet in the water. After our lunch we do a mindfull stretch before we continue the last part of the hike.
• Cruzinha - While we hike back up the volcanic rocks the guide explains about the different geography that can be seen. We walk along the coast where we potentially see ospreys.

When we arrive in Cruzinha our car will pick us up. You can relax and rehydrate yourself while we bring you back to your accommodation.
