- Popa - In the morning, we will pick you up in the hotel lobby and transfer you to Mount Popa, located about 50km from Bagan, which takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach by car. This site is dedicated to animist spirits known as “nats.” Visitors ascend a winding, covered staircase with 777 steps. Along the way, you can enjoy the beautiful surrounding mountains and the curious monkeys that inhabit the area. Upon arrival, you will explore the monastery and temple complex, which houses shrines to the 37 nats. This visit offers a spectacular view of the region and is highly recommended.

Loved it - Went there from Bagan with a shared van. About $7.00 round trip, and we were given about 2 hours to go up, which was enough. It has a covered stairway, I believe 777 stairs, barefoot with lots of monkeys around you all the way. Nice temple, pagoda on the top.
