Recommended, gladly again - We took a day trip to Venice yesterday. The weather was wonderful, the crossing was quite calm, at 29 knots (approx. 51 km). Three tour guides were waiting for us on the catamaran Angela, one for English-speaking travelers, one for Croatians and a super nice, very competent tour guide for German. She gave a very detailed briefing about Venice, where she also pointed out risks such as getting lost, pickpockets and fines. During this lecture we were also offered a guided tour. I have to add that as a person who takes a lot of photos and wants to stop when I want to, I am not one to run after umbrellas, flags etc., but an exception should be made in Venice. There are an incredible number of narrow streets and bridges that look very similar. The tour through Venice costs an extra €100 per person, a lot of money. But it includes a water taxi ride, a gondola ride and a trip to St. Mark's Square on one of the largest ships allowed in Venice and lunch, don't expect a three-course meal here, there is a cheap meal with drinks and dessert. It tastes okay, but it fills you up. Free time on this trip of around 7 hours in Venice is 2 hours for your own exploration, which is enough. All in all, I would join a group again. The day trip is worth it, the crew of the shipping company is super helpful and the tour guides are very good.
