Port Arthur, a hamlet that serves as a historical landmark, was initially established in 1830 on the Tasman Peninsula as a detention center and logging station for convicts. Presently, it has morphed into an outdoor museum as nature and bushfires gradually wore down the prison. It’s a wonderfully preserved segment of history that has been recognized and registered on the global historical heritage list by the Australian government.
