Explore the very outer Great Barrier Reef in luxury and style with Calypso. The custom designed vessel will take you to Agincourt or Opal Reef, both regarded as some of the most significant sites on the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkeling is the easiest way to experience the reef or try an introductory dive, no experience required. For the advanced divers, certified diving is available. Let Calypso take you to the outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef and explore the rich and diverse coral gardens.
- Please advise any specific dietary requirements at time of booking
- Environmental Management Charge of $7.00 per person is included in the fare from 1st July 2023
- Diving within 48 hours of flying is not recommended. All participants will be required to complete a health questionnaire prior to diving. Some pre-existing medical conditions (eg asthma, heart conditions, etc) may prevent you from diving, please consult your doctor
- Additional dives may be booked and paid for on board (subject to availability). Maximum of three dives in a day.
- Children under the age of 12 years are not permitted to dive.
- Evidence of dive certification is required from all divers wishing to participate in a certified dive
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- If its raining on your day of travel, the tour will still go ahead. If Calypso cancels due to poor weather, mainly high winds, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund
- Cancellation fees may apply if less than 24 hours notice is given prior to departure

Worth every minute! - This was an amazing way to explore the Great Barrier Reef! There were enough staff on board to help everyone and ensure safety, the food was excellent, and the tour itself was outstanding. It does list as a long time but it is worth every minute from the boat ride, to swimming in the reef, and being in awe of the beauty that you were surrounded by the entire time. If i ever go back to Port Douglas I will book this tour no doubt and have already recommended it to many of my friends and family!

Perfect Trip out to the Outer Reef - We had been on bigger boats to the outer reef in the past and decided this year to choose an operator with a smaller number of people.
And we chose the perfect operator in Calypso.
The staff on the boat were brilliant and extremely helpful.
The food was simple and fresh, the staff was making efforts to keep the boat clean and clearing dishes even! It was great to have three separate places to snorkel over the course of the day.
Chose a perfect day, and trade winds even played ball - sea was calm, and water clarity was surprisingly good - saw heaps of varieties of fish, clams, turtles,
The group size was perfect too - enough to talk to a few people while not too much.
Overall, a very enjoyable day! So much so we went with Calypso on the Low Isles later that week.

Awesome snorkel + intro dive experience - We are a family of 4, including 2 adult children, and while the other 3are good swimmers, I’m not as confident as them. I picked Calypso after much research and signed up for the all day trip to the outer reef. My wife convinced me to pin them into doing one introductory scuba dive at one of the 3 snorkeling stops.
I must say the dive experience was just amazing, mostly because of our instructors. Pam, our main instructor taught us the basics, and then dove with my wife and daughter. My son and I dove with another instructor, Timmy, who was also amazing. Timmy helped calm my nerves initially and led through an awesome dive experience that lasted 30 mins and top 6.7m.
The other 2 snorkeling experiences were amazing too. A relatively small boat with fewer patrons (compared to the one that followed us), and the crew was just amazing. I can’t recommend Calypso enough

This crew was so kind and... - This crew was so kind and knowledgeable! The waters were rough the day we went out and they were very thoughtful to anyone that felt sick. It was my first scuba experience and Tim did a really wonderful job making me feel safe and comfortable!

Great time with a fantastic crew! - The crew was friendly, knowledgeable and so helpful and patient especially with getting the kids set up with equipment. Snorkelling spots were incredible!
Good lunch and snacks. My kids has food allergies and it was assuring to know they don't use nuts in their kitchen.

Real Great Barrier Reef - Very good marine life / location . Have been on reef trips before but this one was heaps better. Three different snorkeling spots all very good, lots off life and colourful corals

A fun day out at sea - Wonderful crew and boat! We were in the outer reef so be prepared for a long (2hour) ride out. We stopped at 3 locations. The crew is very knowledgeable and very safe.
Things to be prepared for: the ride can be very wet especially if you are in the exposed parts of the ship. If you are prone to motion sickness take the ginger tab they offer and consider bringing wrist bands for motion sickness.
The reefs are worth wait

Great day out. - Great day out snorkeling and diving. Those who dived within the group didn't think the diving was value for money due to the dive being cut short. They resurfaced to change their goggles, then didn't go back down. Might be better to take your own to get the full dive experience. The pictures they take are ok, reef ones are generic which is a bit disappointing as they didn't capture any of us near the reef. We still had a memorable day and these were just minor things. Highly recommend this tour company.
