Worth it! - We are so happy we booked this tour because originally we were going to drive ourselves to the Daintree however were recommended not to. So we found this tour and got the BEST tour guide ever, Ben, would made the experience 10/10! Starting off at the wildlife sanctuary was so lovely, then heading to the river boat ride to see crocs and having a nice lunch and a quick dip on a river (where there are no crocs don’t worry) and finishing up the day with a lovely walk through the Daintree and the most delicious ice cream ever! Take my advice and book this trip so you don’t burn all your energy on the drive there and back! Hopefully you get Ben :)

Amazing!!! - Had a great all encompassing day out with Lisa who shared a lot of her knowledge and personal experiences. The tour covered so much more was covered than I expected. Had a lovely hands on visit to see indigenous animals. We then partook in an Aboriginal smoke ceremony and learnt a lot about their way of life from Rodney who spoke with passion. We visited the rainforest then had a yummy lunch. After a quick stop to view the beach we finished off with a trip on the river spotting crocs. A really great day where even the weather cooperated after torrential rain overnight. Thanks so much Lisa.

Fabulous day with an exceptional guide. - The entire trip was great, - the animals at the Wildlife centre, the Aboriginal cultural talk, the crocs on the river, the magnificent gorge. Our guide, Lisa, was exceptional, making the whole day a truly memorable experience.

Great mix of things + excellent customer service - The tour hits three great experiences. It packs wonderful activities into one day - the rainforest, the gorge and the river. Tropic wings tours does an excellent job with execution with their partners to get everything done in an efficient but not rushed manner. Customer service was amazing- especially morning of our tour when our GPS had us in the wrong location. Would book with them again in a heartbeat.

An very enjoyable day trip - The day we took the tour there was 12 people in the group. This allowed getting to know fellow travelers easier. Don, our driver and guide for the day, was well organized, knowledgeable and friendly. He had many stories to share. The first stop of the day was the wildlife habitat. While we got around most of the exhibits, it would have been nice to have had an additional 45 minutes (or maybe we should have spent less time with the koalas and kangaroos!). Next was the Mossman Gorge. The welcome to country by Uncle Tom was interesting and informative. After a walk in the rainforest (and opportunity to paddle in the river) there was a delicious wrap sandwich served (was a choice of filling). After lunch we went in search for salty crocs from a boat cruise on the Daintree. We saw a juvenile and mother “Bruce” guarding her nest. There were ample toilet breaks throughout the day and the coach was modern, comfortable and air conditioned.

Mostly fantastic - Highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn more about the area north of Cairns (suitable for families with 'late primary school' aged kids due to tour duration; met various dietary needs; and mostly met some mobility and language needs). All things considered, was a wonderful day tour of Cairns' wilder side: hand fed a pademelon at Port Douglas, crossed a swinging suspended bridge at the Mossman Gorge, met a local alpha male crocodile beside the Daintree river, and was welcomed to Country with a smoking ceremony hosted by a local Kuku Yalanji man. PJ (tour guide) provided a some good commentary and conversation, despite multiple transport mishaps. Morning tea (cake, and a warm drink) plus lunch (choice of fillings in a handmade wrap, served with locally brewed iced tea) were catered, but unfortunately did not allow for much variation among the plant based choices. Adam (manager) was very culturally informed and able to share an array of information - including the borders and names of local Aboriginal mobs. Will use this company again; customer safety and entertainment were paramount for most of the tour.
