Excellent customer service and a great day to the Reef. - Customer service cannot be faulted. My wife has mobility issues that posed little problem to all staff we engaged with. Boarding was quick and effortless, the catamaran very spacious and excellent facilities. Complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits before sailing were welcome. Sea sick medication was offered but I found the long journey out to the Reef relaxing. On board briefing by the marine expert was interesting but audibility in the main lounge was a struggle. On arriving at the huge two story platform anchored at the reef transfer was handled with little fuss. There was a wide range of activities on hand. We went on the semi submersible tour which, though a challenge for my wife was accomplished with professIonalism and charm by the crew. Lunch was a substantial buffet affair, which could be had on board or on the platform. The length of stay was just right, especially when you could see the fall of tide slowly reveal the top and extent of the reef. The return sailing was again a joy and on return to Port Douglas the disembarkation was smooth. The crew lined up to say farewell was a lovely touch. Due to the problem on accessing the coach in the morning the company kindly laid on a taxi gratis to return us to our hotel. Biased on our experiences we would have no hesitation in recommending this company for a visit to the Great Barrier Reef.

Great experience! - Although one of the more pricier options, it was a very great experience especially for families of different ages. Did the extra introductory dive experience and was very satisfied, and the views with snorkeling were great as well. If your group has little ones and the elderly, I would recommend as it had many different options for those who may not want to go into the water.

Great trip - We had an amazing time at the Great Barrier Reef. Our kids had the opportunity to snorkel and got close with the marine life, while we went on a bottom boat and saw the coral reef. Surprising for us was the humpback whale who captured our attention while the boat was sailing and it was a bonus for our trip. Food was great and overall a great trip.

Sensational Quicksilver Reef Tour - We had a wonderful day. Older couple - so limited mobility. The entire cruise was wonderful. The semi submerged tour was marvelous. Great commentary! Beautiful reef. Beautiful scenes. Wonderful reef colours. Beautiful sea life!

Glad we did it - We really enjoyed our day on the tour, all the staff were friendly and attentive. The onboard lunch was great, the boat was comfortable (we had great wether) and the transfers to the islands easy to manage. During the snorkel we saw lots of beautiful fish thought the coral was damaged from the cyclone and rain, we knew this ahead of time. We could see signs of the coral recovering though which is great.

Reef tour and more! - Our family did the day out to the Great Barrier Reef. We spent our time snorkeling and so we did not do the submersible or the helicopter. We enjoyed it! Saw loads of different fish and coral. The coral was gray from bleaching bit some said if you take an underwater photo the brightness would show. We did rent a GoPro from The boat and we appreciated having videos of the experience. I’d recommend you take something for sea sickness as soon as you board so it doesn’t hit you. They do sell some on the boat. Most of them are drowsy but you can catch nap for the hours ride out to the reef. It worked out ok for us.

If your a scuba diver, don’t go with quicksilver although snorkellling tour was great. - From the point of view of a scuba diver… don’t do this tour (go with a proper dive centre). Safety checks were few and far between and we felt incredibly rushed leaving no time for buddy checks and to understand the equipment properly, something that a diver would immediately see as a red flag. We also didn’t kit up ourselves and would be fine if the kit was explained but it wasn’t at all. If a bad situation would have occurred, we wouldn’t have been in a great position and neither would Quicksilver and they’d be exposed. We were basically rushed into the water straight after getting off the boat as the instructor had no time so we felt stressed. Lack of proper wetsuits was not very nice in the winter time due to the colder waters (yet being promised that proper wetsuits would be available on the pontoon!). This left the other diver very uncomfortable and extremely cold. Saying that, the barrier reef itself is amazing, just don’t go with quicksilver as they are set up as a tourist boat for snorkelers. From the point of view of my other family members who did the advanced snorkelling instead, it was an excellent tour as the marine biologist Lucy gave a great insight and got to see a different part that the normal area.
