Enjoy the animals - Our visit was pat of a Viator trip to Dantree Forest. This is a small place, very managable even with children. We enjoyed seeing the animals as some roamed around the space. Great for photos. Steve, our guide , met us at the agreed upon time to take us back to our apartment. You could do this yourself, but without a car this trip was perfect for us. Natural wonders and a history lesson made for a great day.

So good! Not a ‘zoo’!! Lovely animal enclosures. - We visited on our last day in lovely Port Douglas. So glad we did! We were wary as we’d been on a Blue Mountain tour in Sydney which included a ‘wildlife sanctuary’ that was frankly a zoo with shabby, cramped, dark enclosures with very sad looking animals. This place was the polar opposite I’m glad to say! Large, clean, modern, bright enclosures with healthy looking animals. We went to the Koala, Crocodile and Cassowary talks too. Two were delivered by the keeper named Paris. She was so good! Engaging, passionate about the animals and gave really interesting and lively talks. Fun and informative! We then roamed around the park. We took particular delight in feeding/ interacting with the Wallabies! So much fun! We spent a lot of time viewing the female Koalas too. They were so lively! Munching on Eucalyptus leaves. They looked so healthy and content. We had a really great time visiting this attraction. Really good spaces for the animals and passionate, caring, committed keepers! Loved this experience.

Great little habitat - We were told to visit this place by another couple they said it was really good. It was not disappointing at all, great little exhibits, really interactive which is great for kids, parrots and galahs walking around, feed the kangas and the birds, so cool, the young lady that did the bird talk was very nice and knowledgeable. I had one that wouldn't leave me alone until he got on my shoulder. The reptile talk by Paris was great, loved the crocodile feeding. We missed the koala show, but we can return within 4 days under the same ticket, so that's great a big thumbs up to this place 👍 😀 😊

Great day out. - This wildlife centre doesn’t look much from the outside but is a fantastic day out. With large aviaries packed with all sorts of birds you can get very close to them. The savannah area with the kangaroos and wallabies is pretty special seeing large Roos hoping pass you and feeding others, including the emu. The Roos are super friendly and have no problem with you petting them. Seeing the 400kg croc getting feed was also awesome.

Wonderful and friendly staff - The talk on the Cassowary and feeding. Sitting with the birds and them landing on our shoulders whilst we ate lunch.

A good exposure to the native Australian animals in one place - Seeing kangaroo and and other animals in the wild, learning about them and, feeding them was fun. It was surprising to see kangaroo relishing carrot. The lighting around the text display in the darkened nocturnal animals section could have been better, as it was difficult to read the label text in the darkness under poor lighting condition.

Go to this wildlife sanctuary!! - This wildlife habitat is very beautiful! Better than the ones at Kuranda. If you are a bird lover as we are then this is the place to go. We'll set out in lush tropical forest. You can feed the fish and kangaroos. Lots to see even a night enclosure.we thoroughly enjoyed it. Plenty of places to sit and rest and enjoy the space. Take a drink with you as it gets hot. Great little gift shop too. A well spaced out cafeteria space with birds flying about. Very good experience. We were there for nearly 4 hours.

A great day out. - We had a great day out here. We saw all the animals, had a photo cuddling a koala, loved the crocs and learned a lot. Great chance for kids to interact and feed wildlife. The speakers were knowledgeable and engaging. Highly recommend a visit here with young kids.

Aussie Wildlife Taste - A small wildlife park with lots of native Australian animals and birds.I finally got to see a cassowary that I’ve heard so much about. You can buy food at the entrance and feed the kangaroos, you can pay extra for a photo experience with an animal or swim with the salties (crocs) whereby you get into their pool but your separated from them by a plastic partition. If your in Port Douglas and would like to see some Australian native animals this will give you a small taste of them and the birds are very tame and will jump on your shoulder happily
