Wish we had gone earlier in the week so we could have used the five day return pass offered! - Spent an enjoyable couple of hours in this animal park. Finally had the opportunity to see the elusive Cassowary! Koalas were sleeping of course. There’s a lot of beautiful birds. A bunch of kangaroos and we saw one with a joey in its pouch!

Fun for all! - Wonderful experience! Lots of opportunities to interact with local animals. Great “shows” /demonstrations. We enjoyed the reptile and crocodile feeding presentation and lots of fun feeding the kangaroos. Great place for families.

Praise for Max - We loved Wildlife Habitat so much that we returned 2 days later. The highlight was the breakfast with the birds - we have a lot of love for those birds now, especially Max. The breakfast was great. Highlight of our Port Douglas trip - a great activity!

Great Day out! - Such a great day! So many interesting creatures to see and interact with at the Wildlife Habitat. We were super lucky and got to Swim with the Salties too, which was a crazy experience!! You really get to grasp just how immense and powerful crocodiles are when you can see them under water and hear the pop of their incredible jaws when they slam shut! Loved feeding the Roos and finally I got to see a Koala that was awake and not completely stoned from too many gum leaves ;) Thankyou to everyone for a brilliant time.

Sydney to Cairns 2023 - We had been here 16years earlier on our 25th Wedding Anniversary Trip and had just had our 41st so thought we'd take another look. This is a well set out habitat center for wildlife. Very close up and interactive. You get a timetable of events and talks along the way. The birds in the park are very friendly and will try and join you for lunch in the large cafe area but it's not a good idea to feed them. Often the food we eat us not good for them. Lots of wildlife to see. There's an area you go into and get up close to kangaroos, wallabies etc Allow plenty of time to wonder through here. There is also a very large gift shop. When we returned to our campervan, there was a very large snake skin on the ground. We'd had a visitor whilst in the center. This is a must do for families while in Port Douglas.

Even better than before. - A lot more relaxed than my first visits, especially with the birds. You can interact with them more without staff breathing down your neck. The five day pass for one admission is awesome.

If you love birds, go here! - This place is undergoing a lot of renovations I think, however what is awesome about it is how much the public can interact with the animals. The birds in the cafe are an absolute highlight. My son formed a very, very special bond with Mitch, the pink cockatoo. So much so that Mitch didn't want him to leave!! Apparently he loves kids but not adults. He actually got mad and chased my husband away, which was really funny. My son was so overwhelmed with joy from this bird that he cried. We will not forget this!

Poor condition of the animals - The condition of many of the animals is very poor. The cassowary have very little space and almost no vegetation. The kangaroos and agile wallabies have no grass and their area is overcrowded. They are feed processed pellets continuously by visitors. The crocs are taunted with meat on a string so visitors can supposedly see how ferocious they are. The bird life is sad. So many species thrown together that would not be naturally. Many of the birds have clipped wings so visitors can have breakfast with them or they are forced to sit on treeless branches in the entrance. Many birds have lost features and are in poor condition. The place should be condemned. I doubt there has been a Vet visit in ages. Don’t go it’s depressing.
