- Batu Caves - Batu Caves (Tamil: பத்து மலை, romanized: Pattumalai) is a mogote, a type of karst landform, featuring a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. The name is derived from the Malay word ‘batu’, meaning ‘rock’. This cave complex is one of the most renowned Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Murugan, and serves as the focal point for the Tamil festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia.
- Istana Negara - The Istana Negara (English: National Palace) serves as the official residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the monarch of Malaysia. It is situated along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim (formerly Jalan Duta), near Taman Duta, in northwestern Kuala Lumpur. The palace, which opened in 2011, replaced the old Istana Negara located in a different area of central Kuala Lumpur.
- Merdeka Square - Independence Square (Malay: Dataran Merdeka) is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. Previously known as the Selangor Club Padang or simply the Padang (meaning “field” in Malay), it was used as the cricket green for the Selangor Club (now the Royal Selangor Club). It was here that the Union Flag was lowered and the Malaysian flag was raised for the first time at midnight on August 31, 1957. Since then, Independence Square has been the traditional venue for the annual Independence Day Parade.
- Central Market Kuala Lumpur - Central Market Kuala Lumpur is situated at Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock (Foch Avenue) and the pedestrian-only section of Jalan Hang Kasturi (Rodger Street), just a few minutes from Petaling Street and adjacent to the Klang River. Established in 1888, it was originally a wet market, while the current Art Deco-style building was completed in 1937. It has been designated as a heritage site by the Malaysian Heritage Society and is now a landmark for Malaysian culture and heritage.
- Menara Kuala Lumpur - The official groundbreaking for the Kuala Lumpur Tower was conducted by Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad on October 1, 1991. The construction of the tower was carried out in three phases. The first phase involved the widening of Jalan Bukit Nanas and the excavation of soil from the construction site, completed on August 1, 1992.
- Petronas Twin Towers - The Petronas Towers feature a tube-in-tube structural system, designed by architect Fazlur Rahman Khan. This tube structure is commonly used in extremely tall buildings. The 88-story towers are primarily constructed of reinforced concrete, with a steel and glass facade that reflects motifs found in Islamic art, symbolizing Malaysia’s Muslim heritage. Another Islamic influence is the cross-section of the towers, based on a Rub el Hizb, with circular sectors added to accommodate office space requirements. These circular sectors resemble the lower part of the Qutub Minar.
