Tasty and interesting - During our honeymoon we wanted to get to know Port Louis a little better and what better way than with a culinary tour of the city. The tour lasted about 3.5 hours and was a mix of sightseeing and culinary tour. During the tour we had a variety of dishes such as Roti, duck, fruits, Chinese dessert and many more. The criticism of some that there is too little to eat during the tour, we can not understand at all. For us it was more than sufficient. Our tour, which we had with another couple, was led by Rudi. With his competent and funny manner, he gave us a better understanding of Port Louis and Mauritius both culturally and culinary. All in all we van say, it was an extremely interesting and especially delicious tour that we can recommend to everyone.

Highly recommended! - We initially took the Grand Baie food tour with Adrien, who was great - very engaging, personable and enthusiastic - and he really helped us find a few new gems in the town (although it was our fourth visit to the island, we had never felt we'd really 'cracked' Mauritian food). The Grand Baie tour helped open up some fantastic new options for us, and we retuned to several of them afterwards. We enjoyed the experience so much we decided to book a second tour, so ended up doing the China Town tour in Port Louis with Rudi. This was another really positive experience . We had visited bustling Port Louis before, but had no real idea of where to find the best street food options. Rudi's strong local knowledge was so helpful, and the various eating places selected for us were nicely varied and off the beaten track. We'd never have found the roti stand, or the little family bakery that did such delicious cakes! We enjoyed everything we ate on both tours, and Adrien and Rudi were professional and charming. Though they must both have done so many of these tours, they still managed to sound fresh and enthusiastic! Very highly recommended for anyone wanting to get a bit deeper into everyday Mauritian life, culture and food. Many thanks!

A good way to taste local food and learn more about Port Louis - We love to taste local foods and learn a bit about the history and local culture when on holiday and the China Town and Port-Louis Mix Food Tour was a great way to do this. Adrien was an excellent guide and we felt we learnt a lot about Port Louis from the tour as well as enjoying a number of snacks and a Mauritian-Chinese lunch. We would agree with a previous review that mentioned the expensive cost of the spices in the market. We bought some and initially miscalculated (conversion) the actual cost. We ended up taking them back, on advice from Adrien, and getting a refund so we were only out of pocket with the cash machine costs they took us to as they did not take credit cards in the market. We did, however, enjoy the tour very much.

Fun tour! - Great tour of places we wouldn’t otherwise have seen. Adrien was friendly and informative and we felt we’d seen a lot of Port Louis and leaned about Mauritian culture and ethnicities. It was a lot of walking in the heat for the kids (11, 9) but they still enjoyed it especially the pastries at the start and sugar cane juice at the end! Other highlights were the mural streets, the Chinese restaurant and the dumplings. A great contrast to lazing at the beach and I’d recommend it! (One watch out : the spices in the market are expensive. Fun to smell but we made mistake of buying some and felt a bit scammed by the stall owner. It would have been good if the tour had been clearer in its warnings at this point of the tour. Other feedback: the market is shady and full of interest so we could have lingered a bit longer over this part of the tour to explore the market slightly more.)

Not for me - I did not get a great feeling for this place some parts especially round the market area we're very dirty the centre part we're slightly better. Took a taxi the following day to tour the island once again not overly impressed but that could be the fact it never stopped raining !!
