All top - We were picked up from the south on time to see the north with Dhiren. Despite the tight schedule due to the driving time we saw everything we wanted plus extras that Dhiren showed us additionally. Of course, we didn’t have a lot of time at one point or another, but for us it was quite enough. Dhiren answered all our questions and explained a lot of interesting things about Mauritius.

Sightseeing north island trip with a shopping disappointment. - The trip with our guide VIC was excellent. The only downside, which had nothing to do with our guide was shopping in the arts and craft area in Port Louis. We were seen off by a shop selling clothing and rum, tea and other tourist items, paying well above what appeared to be the price. Our own fault, but it did spoil the trip. We had a lovely walk around the botanical gardens, the sugar cane musée and a visit to the red roofed church. Excellent location for lunch. Thanks Vic for a great day.

Amazing day in Northern Mauritius - It was an amazing daytrip to northern Mauritius with our driver Vik. We visited Port Louis and all the sights around the city. Loved the market, China Town portals and the fortress up the hill. The botanical garden was a really brilliant experience and see how many different species there are around the gardens. The giant water lilies and the lotus flowers are the main sight. We continued north to Cap Malheureux to see the beautiful little village and the red church of Notre-Dame Auxiliatrice du Cap Malheureux. Really enjoyed the day and I recommend booking with EcoHolidays Mauritius. Congratulations!

Flexibility and good value - My wife and I were on our own, had a good driver who spoke good English and was knowledgeable about the island and also gave us complete flexibility as to what we visited. He was unconcerned that we overran on our allotted 8 hours and the whole day was extremely good value for money

Great trip through the north! - We had a really great guide who took a lot of time to listen to our wishes and always discussed every step with us and told us a lot about the individual places we visited. He still gave us time for ourselves. As a bonus, the weather was fantastic and we got a great restaurant recommendation for seafood. Highly recommended!

A lovely tour but DONT buy from the spice shop. - We did the TUI half day tour of the north comprising the gardens and some shopping in the capital. Steve our guide was excellent, he had a really nice manor and was warm and approachable. The gardens were stunning but a mosquito hell hole if you didn’t have spray! We enjoyed the tour and Steve gave us lots of information. We then went to Port Luis for shopping and exploring. We went to the spice shop in the shopping centre. They were very pushy and we did buy some spices but then found them half price further down the road DO NOT buy anything there, it is a total rip off and they just want your moment. We then went into the old town and the china town area which was very busy but worth seeing. We had food in the food court by the harbour which was nice. Overall a very pleasant trip made even better by our guide Steve.

Interesting tour through the north. - We booked the tour as a couple. We were picked up from our hotel on time. The driver was also our guide. A little shy at first, he gradually came out of his shell and gave us a bit of information about the sights now and then. We were also able to have a quiet chat about the private lives of the people here, which was also very interesting. First we were in Port Louis. Here we strolled through the market. Then we went to the botanical garden. I can only recommend that you hire a guide there for €2. The garden is huge and otherwise you just wander around randomly. Our guide in the garden (not the same one on the tour) told us lots of interesting things and showed us great places where you could take unique pictures. Afterwards we went out for lunch with our guide again and then drove to Grand Baie. Overall it was a successful trip. Here and there I would have liked a bit more information from our guide. But the price/performance ratio was completely fine. I can recommend the trip to anyone who finds it too strenuous to drive and choose a route themselves, but still wants to make individual arrangements with the tour guide and prefers to travel in a small, private group.
