Our journey takes us through a small forested area, and road conditions may vary with the weather, so alternative turtle-watching sites might be used to observe the majestic leatherback turtles. Your participation supports the local youth striving to improve their lives. This is truly a pure nature tour! The endangered leatherback turtles come ashore from March 15th to September 15th each year for their nesting season. These giants visit the shores up to 3 or 4 times during the season to lay between 480 and 1,000 eggs. Remarkably, they can grow up to seven feet in length and weigh over 2,000 pounds. These incredible creatures travel thousands of miles to lay their eggs here. Turtle watching is available from March 15th to August 31st, 2024.
