Great Tour That Gives You a Slice of Local Life - This is a great tour that allows you to get a snapshot of the cultural diversity that exists within Trinidad and Tobago. The Chaguanas Market gives you a slice of daily life with vendors selling everything from fruits and vegetables to meats and household items. Our tour guide, Junior, was excellent and gave us commentary on everything we were experiencing. Then, we went to two Hindu temples and learnt about how embedded they are within these communities. Then, we finished off the tour with some local cuisine (at our expense). I really loved this tour because it was short and sweet. The T&T sun is punishing and I had forgotten my hat, so I was glad that I didn't have to stand out in the sun for too long.

Great half day tour to see the highlights of Trinidad’s bustling city of Port of Spain, like a local! - My daughter and I had a fantastic time with Enya, our local tour guide, exploring all around Port of Spain! From sampling the fresh fruits and sweet treats at the market, to exploring the Hindu temples, and ending the tour after enjoying a DELICIOUS meal of local foods! We learned so much about Trinidad’s rich history and incredible melding of cultures. Every aspect of this tour was enjoyable, fun, and very well done! Highly recommend this tour and you’re in for such a treat if you’re lucky enough to get Enya as your guide!

Well spent time and money! - Our tour guide Khaleel, is very knowledgeable about the Island and it’s culture. He is very accommodating and customer friendly. His driving is quite commendable as well. We toured numerous sites in and around the Island. The open market is quite interesting and personable. The air conditioning was much improved in the car. Thank you for addressing the concern.

Mini Island Tour a Must! - Alright where to start...
We opted for this tour during our trip on Royal Caribbean. We got to the meeting spot a little earlier than expected which was fine. We were enjoying the warm weather. The meeting time was 9:30AM and our guide Enya (more on the guide later ;))showed up right around that time. She popped right out of that car and let me and my family inside and made sure we were comfortable. She took us first to a fresh market but on the way we got some history of the island, the resources on the island and talked about some of the things that make Trinidad stand out.
Fresh Market:
Here we got to sample fresh fruits from the island. It wasn't anything we don't get here in the states but let me tell you the flavors were vastly different than anything you can get at a store here. The pineapples were much smaller but very sweet and a lot less acidic. They sliced it up and put it in a little bag with some salt and mixed it up. It was so tasty. Same with the papaya and the yellow watermelons. The only thing that was similar in taste was the oranges. They don't call them oranges but whatever it was was very close. It was a fun way to start the day.
Hindu Temple(s):
We stopped at 2. Sewdass Sadhu Shiva Mandir Temple and Dattatreya Mandir Temple Compound. They were peaceful and serene. It was lovely seeing all the colors, hearing about the history of the people from various cultures coming to settle here in a big melting pot. We learened about Siewdass Sadhu and his troubles establishing a temple. All of it very beautiful.
Pit stop:
My son Cal really wanted to try a fresh coconut. Not something you normally find here in the Northeast of the US. She made it a point to stop to get one so he could try the water and the fruit inside. It wasn't the typical brown coconut. It was more green and had more of a jelly like substance that wasn't as sweet. It was a weird texture but tasted good. It was fun for all of us to try.
Highway Roti:
MY GOD THE FOOD here was soo good. The Roti, meat, beans, everything was just delicious. I would eat that every day if I could (I'm not a good enough cook for that). I know taste is subjective but even our kids loved it (and they had spaghetti every night on the cruise ship...picky is an understatement). My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I think this is the exact place: https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g1068873-d6017719-Reviews-Hi_Way_Roti_Shop-Freeport_Trinidad_Trinidad_and_Tobago.html
Our Guide:
Our guide Enya was so fantastic. Bubbly, friendly, knew her information well, was great with the kids and interacting with them. She was patient with us and all of our questions and got us everywhere we wanted to see and back on the boat with plenty of time. We always felt safe and comfortable and never had any awkardess. I'm not sure if she sees these but if you do, Enya, Thank you for making Trinidad our favorite island of the tip. All of us very much enjoyed it from start to finish.
We heard it can be dangerous here after the fact, but we never felt this way on this experience at all. All the locals we met were super welcoming and wanting to share their culture and foods with us. If Trinidad is on your itinerary, give this one a go.

Nice Tour - The tour was nice. I got picked up around 9am, we visited a local market and then two historic temple sites in Trinidad. Then lastly stopped for lunch at a popular Roti place. The driver was nice & informative about the background of all the different things we seen and passed. The only downfall was that my friend couldn’t make it so I ended up paying an extra amount for her slot due to “same day cancellation not being permitted” but I don’t see that anywhere on the listing, so it would be helpful to list that beforehand so customers are not stuck paying way extra than necessary or just have that in mind before a uncontrollable cancellation happens. But like I said the tour guide was very nice, I definitely would book him again if possible as a driver if I visit Trinidad again.
