David customized a private tour that provided everything my friend and I asked for which not only met, but exceeded our expectations. David transported us from Athens to Delphi and Meteora, arranging for hiking guides to take us through the mountains, olive groves, and monasteries, and then delivered us to Pelion for 4 days of mountain biking with Panos. The guides were all very knowledgeable and the experience was of the highest quality. The accommodations were excellent and the price very reasonable. Amazing mix of history, nature, lifestyle, exercise and flexibility - My husband and I have never done a private tour before. We don't like big bus tours and like to get away from the crowds and have an active holiday. The Bike and Hike Tour exceeded our expectations. It allowed us to see two wonderful historic sites, Delphi and Meteora, and explore the natural bushland surrounding them. It also allowed us to get into the heart of Greece and cycle through a beautiful area that not many tourists visit, the Pelion Peninsula. From my first contact with David he was flexible in making sure the final itinerary was what we wanted. And boy did I ask questions and make changes. David was our driver and broad guide. As we drove and chatted David made suggestions of additional short stops we could do based on our broader interests. We got to spend as much or as little time as we wanted at each stop and to change timings as we went. David was patient through out and never made us feel rushed or obligated. We loved the level of flexibility that David's private tour gave us. We really liked that David employed local guides for the hikes and for the biking.These guides knew their regions and were friendly, flexible, knowledgeable and passionate about what they did. We spent three days exploring the nature and history of Delphi and Meteora. We have wonderful memories of the ancient sites as well as the surrounding towns, villages and countryside. Both Heleni and Vaggelis were fantastic guides. Then we headed to the Pelion Peninsula to go biking. We combined country roads with off road trails. Panos, our cycling guide, adjusted the days to our level of expertise and desire to go off road. As a result the pace was perfect for us. He took us to lovely village squares and hidden tavernas that we would never have found on our own and gave us plenty of stops and time to explore the villages and the natural surroundings. Our time on Trikeri Island at the end was a real treat. We hiked, swam and kayaked and stayed in the old monastery on the top of the hill. Whilst our room in the monastery was very minimal and the showers were cold, it was an authentic experience not to be missed. It was one of the many highlights of our trip. I am now trying to work out where our next Greek, hiking and cycling experience with David will be. Many thanks David for your thorough organisation of our trip.
