Additional Information

Supplied by a company holding a ‘Clean and Safe’ certificate, awarded by ‘Turismo de Portugal’.

Our extraordinary voyage begins in Portimão where our crew eagerly awaits your arrival at the Clube Naval de Portimão pier or from where our cozy, air-conditioned minibuses can collect you for direct transfer to the boat launch point. A friendly reception awaits, followed by a brief outline of safety protocols.

Our expedition towards the renowned Benagil Cave commences next. We’ll pass by historic churches, fortresses, stunning and mystifying caves, while sharing age-old tales. There’s also a good chance we’ll spot dolphins – our boats are fitted with VHF Radio and maintain communication with the dolphin sighting vessels. If our marine friends are seen within a distance of 2 nautical miles, we won’t hesitate to steer you towards them.

Automatic reservation allotment applies. If you book individually, yet are part of a larger group, do inform us which bookings pertain to your party.

  • Good for avoiding crowds
  • Showcasing the wonders of our coast is a mission that we take very seriously. The state of the sea may not allow boats to enter the caves safely. This is an assessment that is up to our experienced skippers and maritime authorities.
Location
San Francisco Convent Ruins

You will find the Commercial Port of Portimão on your right and you should go straight ahead, on the "dirt road" (dead end road). At the end of the road you will find the meeting point (according to the photos). I also send the google maps location pin: https://goo.gl/maps/mPqrn56nnQx4HuB87

Once in a lifetime boat trip! - Absolutely incredible. We assumed we would only see 3 sights but got so much more than that. We saw amazing caves, fossils, rocks that looks like animals, private beaches and stunning old building. We even got to see the famous windows screensaver private beach cave. Marco was absolutely amazing as a tour guide and would love to have him again. It left on time and we got more time than we thought. It was really lovely for my daughter who is 9, they take such good care of you and your children. So informative too, you find out about history, culture and generally beautiful sights. It really is an affordable yet beautiful addition to the holiday I would be definitely returning for another boat trip. Fully recommend!!

Tiago made it memorable and exciting; true passion for his craft and amazing energy and humour - Tiago was an incredible tour guide, offering great advice along with great pictures and knowledge and showed a lot of passion and enthusiasm within his craft. Appreciated his advice post tour as well regarding Lisbon and Portimao, saving us a lot of money and hassle in the process. The trip was made memorable and fun largely due to him and the driver should be given huge credit for making it exciting and fun. Tiago even made an effort to grab a customer’s hat within the trip, and got it for him which was greatly appreciated but the customer.

The very best was to see thd Bengali Caves amd Algarve coastline - This was an excellent experience for us. We chose this company as they have rubber boats that are the very best for entering the caves. Carlos the captain, was very skilled at handling the boat ensuring we got the best vantage points for viewing this very beautiful coastline.Jessie, our guide spoke excellent English which is a major for us. I highly recommend this team to give you a wonderful experience

One of Portugal's gems- a must see - We had a great guide named Diego which was knowledgable and comical the same time. Seats were comfy and captain of boat navigated perfectly. Such beautiful views and quite a few caves to see. Awesome!

Algarve's gem toured with Mare Nostrum - We were a group of approx. 20 on a Zodiac with comfortable seats. We were lucky to have Diego as our guide; a local fellow who gave us info and made it fun with his sense of humour. 1.5 hours is perfect, not too long giving us the chance to go into several caves including Benagil. Diego even took great pictures for everyone . The captain is experienced in those waters as he manouevers quite easily in and around the caves. So I highly recommend this tour without hesitation.

Very touristy excursion. - Very nice photos to take, however commentary in French inaudible and criticized at the same time in Portuguese just behind us. In May already many tourists for this excursion.

Beautiful landscapes - The trip is really worth it and the caves are beautiful, but on the way back the boat came too fast and everyone who sat in the back got soaked. This ended up ruining the tour a bit as a lot of salt flew into our eyes even though we were wearing sunglasses.
